Title: Cat scratch posts
Post by: Liza on February 12, 2007, 12:30:51 PM
Quick question and I'm not sure if anyone can help...........I need to get my little girls a new post as they've now outgrown the one that I got them when they were babies.  However, I can't seem to find a tall "simple" post - apart from a website in the US - think postage might cost a bit hehe.

Anyway if anyone has any links me and my little girls would be really grateful

Thanks

 :Luv:

I asked the same question on here a while back, and while I was directed to some nice posts delivery on top was the killer.  In the end I bought one from a company called surrey pets.  I think its 62 cm instead of the average 45 (which is what we previously had).  It was about £12 with £7.95 carriage.  We have had it about 4 months so far and it is still standing sturdy!!!

Zooplus do this one - not sure whether it's tall enough.  It's 80cm.  Won't be great quality at that price but there doesn't look like much to go wrong!  Zooplus do free delivery if you spend over £29.

Cool - that looks great......80cm should be tall enough for them, they're just normal moggies, might just well have to order that for £9.90 plus only £2.90 for delivery.

Liza, that looks exactly like ours but taller so the quality should be fine.  Infact that's exactly what I was looking for before and i'ts a bargain.  Go for it!

Thanks for starting this thread! And thanks for the link, I was going to pay nearer £15 at a local pet shop just for the material to have paw prints on!

You can have one of my oak chairs if you like. Henry seems to prefer it to his scratch post. He has taste. He can tell what's expensive and what's not. Why cause £5 worth of damage when you can cause £100? ;)

I've got the Ancol Fat Boy scratching post, it was about £30 on ebay and it is massive, my boy is very big and it takes his full weight without toppling over.

Best £30 I ever spent  ;)

A cat with attitude, bless him

He does have attitude. So we bought these carpet scratch coverings for the chairs, they go on the side so the cat can jump up and scratch that rather than the wood itself. We have 8 chairs around our table and at £20 each I wasn't going to buy one for every chair, just the ones that he scratches. You can guess what happens next..? Yup, he goes for the chairs that aren't covered. So you switch them around and put them on the old chairs. Yup, you've guessed it, he goes back to scratch the original ones.

Damned cat :)

And what is it with his food tray? Not good enough eh Henry? So you put the food in his bowl and what does he do? He takes his paw and drags the food out and eats it off the floor. He needs some discipline! :)
