Title: IV'E JUST CLICKED
Post by: Ela on November 24, 2008, 11:13:01 AM
And feel so guilty.

If ever I see a spider I always say don't kill it everything has a right to life, (sadly a cat flea is a little different).
Everytime I go in my cat pens I find a dead spider and though the cats must be killing them, so although I feel bad, it happens. But I have just realized that it is probably me, as I went in a cat pen with no cats in and again a dead spider.

Each time I put fresh bedding & carpet in a pen it has always been sprayed with something like Staykill. Indorex or Acclaim and it must be that helping the spiders on their way.

Yes, that will be it Ela.  When I Indorexed the house a few years ago, it didn't just kill the fleabies, but all the spiders and ladybirds too, I fell really awful  :(

Well this afternoon I must be guilty of sending  loads of little critters to an early grave, for almost 3 weeks I have been caring (FOC) for 4 cats for someone who has been in hospital and Social Services could not find anywhere for them, (initially it was for 2 days). They were absolutely full of fleas when they came in. Of course I flead and wormed them and each time I took out bedding it had dead fleas on it. Today the owner came for them, I have given her more Frontline, Drontal , a can of Idnorex, 1 large Feliway spray  as she has one cat that 'goes' indoors. I explained that one litter tray is not enough for four cats.  about 100 tins cat food, a few boxes of pouches and a few boxes of dried, a bad of knitted blankets plus loads of advice sheets. Hopefully life for the 4 will improve now and the owner appeared to take on board what I was saying.

Anyway once the cats had gone Stuart and myself gutted, the pen floors washed with special disinfectant every nook and cranny sprayed with Indorex, a dustbin full of bedding and carpet. We had just finished when she returned with my cat boxes and then Stuart had to go through it again with them. Glad he was not working today. ;D
