My poor Ollie, when I woke this morn to getting told my poor boy had slept the night ruff I felt so guilty and still do. How did I not notice that he was not in the house? :-:
My OH said did you know Ollie was outside all night, I didn't :-[ It must of been awful for him cos he is a heat hugger.
He is on his princess bed (its Lyla's really) now snuggled and warm. Im a terrable meowmy

Bet if we are honest something like this has happened to all of us! The more cats we own the more stories we could tell (or not :-[ :naughty:) Im sure he will furr-give you. Cats give unconditional love ......

Speak for yourself ;D. That is me being honest. (honest ;D) Although I do understand how it could happen if for some reason something may just take your mind off checking or sometimes one may just assume a partner has checked. Even though my cats are now all indoor, I never get into bed unless I know where they all are and sometimes with my aching back and creaky knees looking under the bed in the early hours of the morning is not an easy task.
What I would say is that once it has happened I bet it does not happen again as things like this make us paranoid and we then check and check again.

Pleased he is now inside in the warm .....it does give us terrible guilt pangs when something like this happens :hug:

Mine have never really gone out but when young Penny and Squeaky on the odd occasion wanted to sleep in the garden in the summer but I wouldn't rest until they were in and rather annoying if they were sat laughing at me through next doors fence :naughty: whilst I was quietly shouting biscuits through gritted teeth.

Fredcat has got himself stuck in the garage more than once - and as he is the only one allowed out at night (he is an ex stray and WILL NOT tolerate being locked in) his absence isnt always notice until breakfast time! :-[

Thats why I shocked, I never go to bed when all of the cats are not in! Never in my wildest dreams would I of thought Ollie would be outside lol He's such a home bird. Well lets face it at least I know he was only in the back garden, he cant go any further than that. He must of dived out the back door when I went to put the rabbits to bed lol

Poor baby Ollie :care: Hope he's warmed up and has a belly full of chicken for his 'trauma' :)

I would sleep out all night if I was given chicken as a treat! (well maybe not - unless it had been well marinaded in something good!!!) :rofl:

I always do a head count but Kylie occasionally manages to get over the back fence. She sits and cries. I wish she had the sense to jump back over. More than once I have had to unlock the gate at 2am (6ft high) to let her back in :tired:

I can remember before Parsley passed away my partner and I were going out to a restaurant to celebrate a number of years together. I checked I'd seen all the cats and then put the hoover away in the cupboard under the stairs. On our return I thought it was odd that the others came to say hello but not her - I then had a terrible thought. Parsley loved sneaking into places she wasn't supposed to - ie: cupboards under the stairs! I opened the door and she strolled out looking terribly indignant. I felt awful, she seemed completely unconcerned.
I'm sure Ollie will have forgiven you by now. :)

Aww Jack youu have just made me think of something worse- we went out shopping for around 3 hours when I came back Ollie was in the bathroom crying his little head off, he was only a kitten then. I had locked him in the bathroom :innocent:
I feel much better now :doh: :rofl:

That reminds me of the time my sister shut Mizzy (my dads cat) in her wardrobe. Mizzy was only about a year old at the time and had runny bum problems... yes you can guess what happened. :evillaugh:
My sister was NOT happy as she had a thing for designer gear at the time; you know £60 for a top etc :shocked:. I personally was not impressed with my sister as what did she expect a cat to do, when shut in a cupboard for 14 hours...hold it?
Mizzy is 13 now by the way....
I play count the cats regulary, especially as my new lodger regulary leaves the front door wide open when she comes in >:( Inconsiderate girl!

I once searched high and low for Byron as I was due to go out, when it turned out she was in my wardrobe and she was once in one of the large kitchen drawers for a good few hours. We were worrying where she was and when we did find her she just hopped out as if to say what's you're problem :evillaugh: you can't open a cupboard but she is in there she is a very nosey cat, our Penny used to be the same (wonder if it's a girl thing ;))

That reminds me of the time my sister shut Mizzy (my dads cat) in her wardrobe.
That reminds me of a time that there was a knock o our back door and a neighbour said I think one of your cats is dead in our outhouse. (In the days when I let my cats out of course). I went to look and sure enough the little one was dead, upset I returned home crying waiting for Stuart to go and get the little one. After a while I went upstairs and sat on our bed still sobbing, I looked up and Stuarts wardrobe door was ajar and on one of the shelves was a cat, yes you have guessed it, the little one I thought was mine next door.

Harry is very nosey, Im quite suprised he comes home of a night, he's always getting into things. Lyla and Macey also have a thing for the dryer, I open it to put the clothes in there and they jump in :-:
