Title: PURRS 2nd BIRTHDAY tomorrow
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 14, 2008, 12:42:21 PM: We are two years old tomorrow and there will be some special threads appearing just around midnight and I hope that you will be able to pop in and enjoy a day of mostly lightheartedness, in these difficult times.

We will once again be honouring those we have lost over this year, which seems to have gone past so quickly. So many names..............................but we should remember them with love and affection cos they all have a pawprint in our hearts.

On the one hand it seems like only yesterday when Tan got Purrs up and running after the demise of the CatChat forum and on the other hand, I don't know how I managed without Purrs before it existed, it has become such a large part of my life.

Look forward to celebrating with everyone tomorrow. :hug:

I think we deserve a bit of relief and to let our hair down and be a bit stupid :shify: :shify: So it will be mostly going on in the members only area.........we wouldnt want to show ourselves up, now would we :rofl: :rofl:

Our losses have been our Tortie girls this year Miss Gracie a feral who came in from the cold at 15 and adpated to indoor life like it was meant to be and had some glorious times with us and then we spent the last couple of months of her life at the vet to often and then we got the knowing look and for the first and only time ever we had 3 toerites at the Vet that sad day - Gracie for her last journey, Gem for the first of to many visits and baby Beijing for her red eyes, that day we came home with 2 torties.

We then very sadly lost Gem to FIP in October way to young only a baby herself but she spent 4 months with us being loved and so soerly missed, she left her lasting legacy with us entrusting us with Beijing and of course Brodie her brother.

We have so many ups and downs with Purrs as many of us have and it doesn't seem that time has trevelled so fast encompasing memories for all here to share. :hug: :Luv2:

I happen to know ;) that some of the special threads will be a lot of fun (we could certainly do with it at the moment), so keep your eyes peeled and see you on those ;)

Post by: Leanne on November 14, 2008, 15:07:05 PM: I personally joined Purrs when Jess arrived last year, but only recently have been on daily. But I have to say everyone is lovely its a wonderful support network and I know I appreciated everyone's support when Jess was poorly.

There are many posts which make we want to cry and what some of you have been though recently is heart breaking. There are also many posts which make me laugh as well.

Purrs is a wonderful place and all you mods and admins should be proud of what you have done and all us members should be proud that we are part of a great community.

I've shared plenty of my moments of both joy and sadness as well as being there for the laughs and sobs, may there be many more years of this as I carry on my journey to becoming a crazy cat lady!

He started off at 6 and has gone into super, super daylight-saving mode by bringing the clock back one hour every night! ;D

Obviously the best ones are those with fruity liqueurs as you can easily find a similar flavour. Oh and coconut is an easy one instead of Malibu.

Mixes I like are cranberry and orange (I usually have vodka in) and coconut and pineapple, no guesses for the alcohol version of coconut. Yeah I know I know, not really cocktails but they're a mix of flavours so they are my version of cocktails. :evillaugh:

Yep, I feel exactly the same! and I don't see it as being a sad woman - or even a sad cat woman LOL! It is a real community here and we are all united (well most of the time anyhow!) in our love of cats. ;D

When Smudge went missing in September 2007 and Sam contacted me to join Purrs I thought what on earth for, how can that help me? 48 years old and it's the best thing I've ever done. Everyone is great and everyone knows how each other is feeling. Purrs really did save my life, with some help from my dearest Bonnie too
