Hi all
Im splitting my pet photography to a different website, However having spent hours talking things over with a market guru ;D yesterday I need to have something different to my sites I already have which are for higher end weddings etc.
So my first thought was 'Animal snaps' but market research shows people dont think this is very professional photography sounding.
other thoughts were picture purrfect, pawtraits , but all the ones I can think off have been bought up , a lot are being used for artists etc. Can you help? Ive got thinkers block, and need something descriptive and fun and a brand people can go oh yes ******** not bob blogs photography
Any ideas greatfully recieved.

thats the difficult bit, trying to find something good that someones not already using in a business

For some reason "pet silhouettte" just came in my mind. No idea why!!!

Is it every kind of pet you photograph or just cat and dogs?

to be honest we often advise clients in these situations that the URL doesn't always have to contain the brand name it can simply be something catchy...have no idea what tho

its mainly cats and dogs, but probably some horse as well.
I know what you mean about it not needing to be in the URL ,that is true Ive bought up pet photographer and my area etc for SEO, but It would be nice if they see the brand name for them to type it in and get the URL as well

Hi, if you are looking for a website address I suggest that you use keywords that someone would use in a search engine to try and find a product like yours - for example, if you sold dog beds, it would be beneficial to have ww w.dogbeds.co.uk or ww w.dog-beds.co.uk etc etc. This helps make it easier for potential customers to find your website using google/yahoo etc (i.e. helps with your SEO rankings).
You dont have to name ur business the same as you name your website url - so for example you can call your business petsnaps and have ur domain name as ww w.petphotos.co.uk. I know that you want to build a brand but just getting customers to your site may be more beneficial initially than having a strong brand.
I have just spent a couple of months going over these issues for my new business too, so hopefully this is helpful for you.
-Some people just buy domain names to sell on so if it says sold but there appears to be no website then its worth getting in contact with the owner and asking if he/she is willing to sell it.

Ive already done that for SEO but thanks, its just for branding Im now really wanting a name
I think anything with snaps in is out, because people are saying it sounds cheap and amteurish.
Im thinking of doing baby photography instead at this rate :evillaugh:

If you are thinking of length that's good ... you might end up catching some folk who are looking for BIG pics as well.

I like Hannikats idea, from a marketing point of view, it sounds professional and modern, although I don't know a lot about your business, will you have a studio available to you for dog/cat pics, if not then I suppose it may convey the wrong idea.
From an SEO point of view, definitely choose a URL with your high ranking keywords in, I am a web designer and so much of our companies time is spend redo-ing clients websites because they do poorly in the search engine rankings. Most are now high up on page 1 of google for their keywords.

In my (own, addled) opinion, 'four feet' is OK but 'all four feet' is exclusive. I think the former implies what you're born with and the latter implies what you have?
