After everything that I went through with Thomas passing away Felix has just come home with his chest covered in blood and limping on his right paw. I'm letting him rest but i'm scared to leave him. I don't want him to pass away and leave like thomas did :( I'm scared he's going to die in his sleep or something. I fear his paw may be broken. The past few weeks hes been comming home with cuts and grazes but I thought that was just him being a cat. Now i'm seriously concerned after I never did find out how Thomas died :(
-
I would be off to the emergency vets as soon as possible and this will help Felix and put your mid at rest to
-
Give the paw a good bathe in warm water and see what it looks like - good luck
-
He wont let me get near it and I don't want to make things worse :(
-
like Liz I would be also off to the emergency vets as soon as possible

Totally agree- get him to th emergency vets ASAP. So sorry for you and him. Try and stay positive
-
Oh hunny you gotta take him to an emergency vet
sounds like he has probably been hit by a cat .....cats can go into shock pretty quickly
you need him to be seen by a vet asap
-
Oh hun please don't delay .... he needs to see a vet immediately. Your little boy came home because he knew you would help him.
Sending lots of love and positive vibes for you both
-
 oh dear, how is he?, do see a vet
-
Well i've got him a blanket and covered him up with another little sheet to keep him warm and comfortable. I've given him water and a light meal. I don't want to over do it with him as I know this can be bad to. I will take him tomorrow. He seems to be moving it but I really can't say for certain if he's ok :(
-
I hope he's ok :(
Can you not ring the vet tonight and ask for some advice over the phone? The vet is the best person to tell you whether he needs to be seen now or whether keeping him warm and comfortable for now is the best thing to do.
-
He really needs to see an emergency vet. Cats are very good at hiding pain so any injuries could be worse than they seem. You really should phone one now as he is probably in a lot of pain.
-
Don't want to frighten you and I'm sure he will be fine with help but I really think he ought to see a vet. A family member's cat came home in a similar state and didn't see a vet til the morning and nearly died as fluid developed around his heart and lungs as a result of the trauma of being hit by a car. He had to have major surgery and it was absolutely awful for all involved. The vet told them that it may not have been as bad as it was if they ahd taken him straight to the vet. They can also go into shock without us knowing. Most vets will have an emergency team that do nighttime appointments. Better to be safe than sorry.
-
I've got to echo what everyone else has said -
please don't wait till the morning, He could have internal bleeding and as i have always said, if he goes into shock you could loose him through that.
-
Only just seen this and can see that you are offline.
I really hope you took the others advice and got him to a vet.
I hope he is Ok
-

This morning he has eaten a bit of cat food. He has had a little bit of water and I put out the litter tray for him to releave himself (he has only gone for a wee so far). He keeps trying to get up and he is limping on his right foot for sure. I will get my mum to take him today. I would of took him last night after reading all this advice but I went offline pretty quickly
-
Like everyone has already said - I would take him to checked by a vet urgently. There may be internal injuries that you can't see.
-
Hope you and Felix are ok
-
 Let us know what the vet says x
-
Hope Felix is ok, like the others said he needs to see a vet as there could be internal injurys. Thinking of you both
-
Hope he's going to be OK, let us know how he gets on at the vets
-
Definitely take him to the emergancy vets ASAP, my mums cat, Casper is at the emergancy vets now - there were no injuries to be seen on the outside (no blood etc) but he most definitely has broken bones or some kind of internal injuries.
Big hug for you and Felix
-
Hope Felix is OK, how did you get on at the vets?
-
how is felix?
-
I echo what the others have said and I hope he's ok
-
I hope Felix is okay
-
I hope the little lad is on the mend now
-
Hopefully no news is good news?
-
Just wondered how is Felix doing?
-
Felix went to the vets and he has been given the all clear. He is fine and dandy but not as out going as he used to be. I think something really spooked him.
-
Where had the blood come from in the end?
-
He had a cut on his throat/kneck but it wasn't as bad at once thought. He has black furr all over but white chest, kneck and paws so it seemed worse seeing the red on the white.
-
Glad to hear he is OK :Luv2:
-
It must of been a deep cut to get blood all over him :-: Where could he of got this from, has someone tried to hurt him or has he been caught by wire or something?
What did the vet say? Did he give him anything for that.
Hope he gets better soon.

I think he jumped off the flat stairs over the road because he done it before when somebody walked up the stairs and scared him he jumped off and smacked his face on the floor. No they didn't because when we took him it was already healing quite nicely, the cut was small but as he has white furr I think it looked worse then it was.
