Thought i should introduce no7 and no8 :evillaugh: :shify:
-
Mister Magoo is white and 11-12 yrs and has a very erm what i call quirky way about him :evillaugh:
Dexter is 2ish and is still twitchy but really affectionate :Luv: he knows he gorgeous 8)
They are suposed to be rescues and be rehomed but you know how these things never go to plan! :shify:
-
:welcome: to Purrs Mister Magoo and Dexter :wow:
They're both stunners MM :Luv2: I especially love Dexter (cool name too), what a gorgeous creamy ginger colour :drool; Were they strays MM or are you a failed fosterer? :evillaugh:
-
Magoo is what i call permanently borrowed lol :shify: and Dexter has been out for a longtime - a good year, took many months of talking to a disappearing rear end before he considered me safe enough to even look at.
Magoo has cancer on his ears >:( but due to his 'quirky' behaviour cant reside in the house with my lot yet for after surgery care so is waiting for the official cat accomodation to become free.
Relationships are starting to calm down a little as theres attitude a plenty with Gooey :Luv: have to be careful as stress is bad for Taz :(
-
i love em ;D
-
2 beauties and proper Purrs cats - they are posing for photos  :Luv2: :pic:

Oh love Dexter's colouring, he looks soo like my little Charlie boy who sadly got run over, he was a lovely pale ginge like that. :Luv2: Numbers rising then MM ? ;)
-
Both lovely but I love Dexter - I always wanted a ginge :Luv2:
-
They are both absolutely gorgeous :Luv: :Luv2: But you know I have a thing for gingerbread men!
-
lovely cats :Luv:
-
Dexter says thanks for all the compliments, his head has grown another inch in size :evillaugh:

To my dads horror :sneaky: i will try to rehome as my lot are a close knit bunch and dont like intruders but i know in reality an earless older cat with quirky behaviour is going to be a toughie to place :tired: Dexter should find someone to love him tho :Luv2:
I think Dexter has a brother as i occasionally see an identical cat but semi longhair :drool;
-
Magoo and Dexter are gorgeous :Luv: :Luv2:
I hope that Magoo manages to get his surgery and recovers soon, and that relationships in your furry family remain calm ;D
-
Mister Magoo is booked to have his ears sorted next wednesday, he also needs a big dental so will be racking up a nice bill! He will be having full bloodwork and fluids thoughout his op as hes an older chappie :Luv:
The cancer is quite advanced down his ears so he will losing 100% of both :(
The aftercare will tough for him, a cone on his head will drive him mad and his mood wont be pleasant :scared:
He had a good attempt at getting the vet :evillaugh: think he was insulted by comments about his weight, 5.2kg  didnt think he would be much more than 4 so hes a solid chap ;D hopefully all his organs are in fine fettle too :wish:
-
Poor little chap....hope it all goes well for him
-
Fingers crossed for him, and his recovery
-
Hope everything goes really well for Mister Magoo
I have told the gang to brush up on their gentle healing headbutts for him in readiness ;D
-
Sending :luck: for Mr Magoo next week.
Now I'm a bit confused as the thread title says 'updated' but we don't appear to have any new :pic: :shify:
-
Gooey says thanks muchly for his good wishes but he has a plan to bleach Dexter and send him instead :evillaugh:
He hasnt felt like posing for pictures after comments on his waistline but may be able to face up to some at the weekend :um: :um: :um:
If not i shall :pic sneek:
Iv got quite attached to the grumpy old fella already :Luv2:
-
Helen, Gooey has posed for a few pics today just for you :wow: just have to load off camera :tired:

I like his tufty ears :'( :'( :'(
I dont normally use collars but Magoo wears his as anti ACO protection, he doesnt leave the garden but being older, grumpy and cancerous he would stand no chance if they took him away >:(
Hes being chipped when he has his op ;D
-
What a babe :drool; I love his little pink nose :Luv2: The scales don't lie do they, he does look a little chunky :evillaugh:
-
:oh noo: :oh noo: :oh noo: :no no: he has a really really dense winter coat! Hes not that chubby when your brave enough to get your hands round him :evillaugh:
Il try to get an ariel view of Dexter, he isnt fat and i guess him at 6.5 - 7kg
When he sits inside the shed and looks out his fat head fills the entire flap hole
-
Aww, he is lovely
-
Hes had his op, bloods were ok and teeth have had a good clean and all allowed to stay in :wow:
They have kept him in tho as his ears head is still bleeding :( hes got plenty of pain relief and they will try to clean him up nicely as being white hes looking a bit of a mess :(
-
Glad he got to keep his teeth. Hopefully the ears should heal really quick. :Luv2:
-
He's lovely :Luv2: pleased he's done well today but hope he's proper better soon
-
:thanks:
When i saw his teeth they looked really nasty so im very surprised they didnt remove any :wow: (theres some missing already) Never seen such tartar build up :scared:
Fingers crossed i can collect him tomoro :wish:
-
Aww, fingers crossed for a good recovery
-
Hope the Gorgeous Gooey makes a good recovery, and keeping everything crossed so that you can bring him home tomorrow :wish:
Six special healing furry headbutts are being sent Gooey's way tonight :)
-
He is so stunning and from the front you wouldnt know those gorgeous ears had a problem....what did they do to his ears? :(
-
He had SCC Gill from too much sunbathing without protection :(
Hes home and not too peed off, is still running off their pain relief tho :evillaugh: have Metacam to start tomorrow.
He looks so much better than i expected, very clean and neat surgery, im very pleased ;D
Iv got a copy of his notes, bloods were ok, only thing flagged on them was slightly elevated BUN, creatine normal. Havent had time to look that up yet so any comments?
9 days for check up unless i have any concerns ;D
-
BUN is the same as Urea - both Jeannie and Norman have slightly raised Urea, and the vet says with a small increase and no increase in Creatnine, it can just be indicative of infection/inflammation.
-
Thanks Des ;D would make sense with his grotty gums
-
Your welcome, and yes, it would make a lot of sense, Norman's have been put down to his gums, it is just everthing else that is out with him!!
-
Mr. Magoo and Dexter are very beautiful puss cats :ahh:
-
:thanks: Yvonne ;D
His ears are healing so quickly, im very pleased, i give them a nice scratch for him as its driving him mad that he can get at them! :(
Regular feedings of roast chicken and temptations are helping his recovery, im going to try the same treatment for my wallet, he is my most expensive rescue by far  Im so glad for my discount as he has nearly reached £500! Worth every penny, just need the cherry on top - a new home :Luv: :Luv:
-
Some post op pics, i had to cut the top off Magoos fav box so his cone fitted in with him :Luv:

Gorgeous pics :Luv: I love your titles - particularly 'Hiding from the fat faced thug' :evillaugh:
-
Those pics are great and his ears look as if they are healing nicely. Loved the one of Dexter upside down. Is he covered in debris from the garden? Skye constantly has "stuff" that need picking out of her fur after rolling around in ours
-
Just catching up with the thread :Luv2:
-
Just gorgeous :Luv2:
-
Magoo looks like a Scottish Fold cat now :Luv2:

Its catnip ;D he will fall at your feet and roll about without any but wont stay still and pose unless i give him some, hes very smart and has me worked out :tired:
Magoo looks like a Scottish Fold cat now :Luv2:
Good plan, if i amputate tail i can advertise as a manx x scottish fold and he will be rehomed much quicker :sneaky:
Bless him, his temper has calmed alot now so im hoping someone will fall in love with the old chap :Luv:
-
Hi MM,
Those pix are fab and I agree that 'Gooey' does look like a Scottish Fold now...a breed I have always thought of as being particularly cute...I think they look very, very sweet...as does poor Gooey right now, bless him. Poor little poppet. That's the disadvantage of being born truly blonde. I hope the cancer has been completely eradicated now and that he heals up quickly. I have so many cats that I cannot offer a home to another one at the moment otherwise I would take him in a trice....I think he looks adorable....
Dexter is very handsome so I can't see it taking very long before someone falls in love with him, especially if he is well and not suffering from any illnesses. I wish it were thus for all other cats awaiting re-homing.
It's lucky for us that they both appear to be such posers. ;D
Lots of love to them.
Roz
-
Hi Roz
Have administered your love to the posers boys, they say thank you ;D
Gooey is hoping to leave as soon as possible because he isnt getting fed enough sheba trays which he finds unacceptable treatment, natures menu is not a suitable alternative lol
