Had to rush Titch in last night, she is one of the cats from Manchester and an absolute sweetheart. She was staggering around and couldn't keep her balance bless her. Trevor said it seemed like she'd got a middle ear infection which you can't see and it has gone onto her brain. She was given an injection and kept in overnight and Sean rang me this morning. There has been no improvement so he's upped her steroid dose and he wants to give her 24 hours. Sometimes in these cases, they do recover but they usually have a marked difference in a few hours but sadly there isn't with Titch. I will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings :'( Keep your fingers crossed tomorrow will bring good news
-
certainly will, poor Titch :( I'll keep everything crossed for her xx
-
Fingers and paws crossed here Dawn for both you and Titch

Oh no, Titch is the sweetest little cat. Poor girl. Am sending her tons of positive vibes and please, please, keep me updated Dawn. Come on Titch you are on your way to a happy life, don't get sick on us now.

Just seen this - I hope she has turned around overnight
-
I rang earlier and Trevor said she is still very wobbly but she's eating really well and has asked me to go in later and see what I think, he said she's still not brilliant but much better than she was on Saturday night so fingers crossed
-
Love and positive vibes for Tich xxx come on little girl, you have come this far towards a better life please get better xxx
-
C'mon Titch sweetheart, get better!
-
come on little one we're all rooting for you
-
Please let us know Dawn, my heart is with her
-
just seen this. If it's the vestibular inner ear thing, it often does get better but think from what my vet said that it sometimes takes a bit longer than 24 hours possibly? I really am hoping that there's an improvement today and she feels less dizzy asap  good that she's eating and having the best of care. all the best.
-
Poor Titch. I hope she feels better soon!
-
I am so sad for little Titch. Those of you who read the Manchester cats thread will know that she came from a terrible home where she lived with 13 other cats - 9 of them unneutered with kittens being born left right and centre and being killed as they were born. Dawn (especially) and I worked hard to get them out of there over a period of three weeks and Dawn took them all back with her where they settled well and some of them have homes to go to. Titch is the sweetest of them, the others were pretty wild but are now coming round. She so doesn't deserve this and she must get better to move onto her new and happy life. Lots and lots of positive thoughts needed for this little girl.
-
Titch is still quite wobbly so Sean has advised I go over tomorrow to see her as he said she definitely won't be coming home today. She is still eating well which is a good sign and hopefully they'll be further improvement with her tomorrow  She really was in a bad way on Saturday night and I did get her in as an emergency as she couldn't even stand up without falling over, the fact she's eating is a dramatic improvement as she wouldn't have been able to do that the state she was in, I will update tomorrow after I've spoken to Sean and hopefully he will think she's well enough to come home
-
Keeping fingers and toes crossed for more improvement overnight and tomorrow x
-
ditto
-
sending loads of positive Healing vibes for little Titch
-
and from me too
-
:luck:
Thinking of you and your poorly puss
Hope all goes well
-
Titch still isn't right but hopefully she may be able to come home later, Sean is going to give me a ring when he's finished his ops.
-
aww, poor girl, I do hope she steadily improves
-
Bless her, has she improved though Dawn?
-
It sounds like she's improved slightly but I won't know until I speak to Sean, I only spoke to the receptionists and she said there was still signs so I presume that means she's still quite wobbly. If she is I prefer for her to stay in until she improves but I'll see what Sean thinks.
-
Hope she improves and is ok
-
Hope my little buddy Titch is feeling much much better and can come home today
-
Hope Titch is much better today xx
-
same here x
-
Hope Titch is on the mend  I know how you are feeling. We had a similar thing with Korky. He had been having problems with his ear on and off all summer (long story with rubbish vet involved). Then suddenly he couldn't walk without falling over. Took him to another vet who gave him antibiotics and some tablets to increase blood flow to his brain (he couldn't have steroids because of his kidneys). The first week he had bad days and not so bad days. The second week he had good days and not so good days and by the third week it was just the occasional wobble if he shook his head. The good news is he seems fine now (week 4). So don't despair if progress is slow.

I've just spoken to Siobhan and Titch is still quite wobbly so she's not sure if she can come home tonight or not. I will be going in later to see her as I've got to get Sally in anyway so I'll have a chat with Sean as he's on tonight. She hasn't has any problems with her ears whatsoever, I always have them checked when I have them spayed as well. Trevor said it's just something that can't be see and usually it's attacked the brain by the time you realise. The good news is she still eating like a horse and she's having lots of fusses but does occasionally fall when they are fussing her. I'll update later after I've seen her
-
Hope she's ok bless her. Give her a hug from her aunty Chrissie (not that she likes me very much all things considered!!!!)
-
poor little Titch. I just wondered if Vivitonin may help as from my own experience, the vets are getting quite good results with it now. Sounds like that's what CarolM had with Korky - they increase the blood to the brain. Combined with steroids? just a thought. I hope Titch is much better tomorrow. These brain problems can take quite a long time to improve but they can improve, so sending lots of positive vibes your way x
-
I've just got back in now and I've seen Titch :Luv2: She's so much better than she was but did fall over a couple of times whilst I was fussing her. Sean is giving her daily injections and he said she can come home for the weekend :) He said she may end up having a head tilt but should improve enough to cope, but he still wants to keep an eye on her for a couple of days
-
Poor girl. I bet she will be glad to get home and try to stick her head in your mouth Dawn
-
As long as she doesn't bite my eye again the little minx :evillaugh: She was such a fuss pot tonight but they all said she's been mithering them all for a fuss so she's been getting plenty bless her :Luv2:
-
-
Any news on Titch this morning?
-
Not as yet Chrissie, I'll be phoning later when Seans done the ops. If there's any change he will let me know anyway, hopefully with the medication he's got her on she'll be more stable on her feet by tomorrow. I'll give you a bell when I get her home and from what he said, she should be home by weekend anyway
-
Ok Dawn but am away Sat to Tuesday. Hope she does well and can come home soon
-
Positive vibes from Manchester to Titch this morning.
-
I rang this morning and Titch can come home today, she's still wobbly but she should be ok :Luv2:
-
Just caught up with this one, glad to hear she is feeling better, give her a headbutt from me. :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Brilliant news.
-
I'm so pleased :) give her a cuddle from me
-
I've picked the little madam up and she is still quite wobbly but being extremely affectionate and very talkative :Luv2: She's had a full pouch of food since she came in and some biscuits so there's nothing wrong with her appetite ;) It may be a couple of weeks before there's any really improvement so I basically have to keep an eye on her. Whilst in there, I managed to get a home for one of my cats :naughty: A lady came in to look at a stray but it turns out she's pregnant so she didn't want the hassle of kittens, I mentioned that I do rescue so she'll be having a cat off me next Friday as she's got builders in this week :briggin: I may end up with the pregnant one but hopefully someone else will be able to take her :)
-
Glad to hear Titch is doing better - and a new home found too - success all round! ;D
-
I also managed to rope my friend into taking 2 kittens that Social Services phoned me about this morning, totally flea ridden, ill treated and tiny, she was worried about them getting hurt so I said I'd take them. I then managed to persuade my friend as although I wouldn't see them getting hurt or ill treated, I am desperately trying to get my numbers down. It seems I rehome one and get lumbered somewhere else along the line so all in all a good day :naughty:
-
Glad little Missy Titch is home again. Hope she continues to improve and glad you have found at least one home. How's Syd?
-
Titch is still very wobbly but in saying that, she managed to find the bed within minutes of getting home and has spent most of her time there :Luv2: She was cuddled up on my pillow last night, well had 99% of it and left me a tiny bit on the edge :sneaky: She's extremely happy to be home and spends most of the time purring away with her little feet tankling bless her :Luv: :Luv:
Sid is fine Chrissie, still a snot box but extremely loveable, I'm sure he'll find a home soon bless him :Luv2:
-
ah, bless him :Luv:
-
How's she doing Dawn?
-
She's still pretty much the same Chrissie but is steadily improving. She's still eating really well and is managing to get around and always ends up snuggled up next to my pillow at night :Luv2: I also had Smudge snuggled up to me last night  She doesn't run away from me now and was purring away whilst I was fussing her. When I woke this morning, she was still on the bed so she's accepted now she isn't going to get hurt and is learning to trust us :Luv:
-
Fantastic Dawn. Glad little Titchy is steadily improving and you have done wonders with Smudge.
-
How's Titchy doing Dawn?
-
Still not a lot of difference as far as her wobbling goes but other than that she's doing really well. She's eating well and getting around no problem and still managing to take over my pillow at night :evillaugh: Smudge is now also a permanent fixture on the bed and she was actually lay on me last night :Luv2: I've over the moon with the differance in her the last few days although hubby has been whinging that they are taking over the bed and are being a little bit on the cheeky side :evillaugh: If there's no marked difference in her by Wednesday, I'll pop her back in for Sean to look at
-
I can't believe the Smudge monster has turned into such a cuddle monster. That's wonderful. Hope little Titchy will be ok. Keep us posted. How are the others?
