For the last two days my 2yr old cat has been very quiet, just sleeping all day. He is eating, but is just not himself. He usually spends quite a few hours outside, but hasn't even ventured outside since Saturday. He just looks really tired all the time. Any ideas what could be up with him? It is unlike him to be so quiet, he is usually picking on the other cats. I'll try and get an appointment at the vets tonight.

With the cold weather, my 3 cats are sleeping most of the day and only venturing out for the toilet. As they say, if in doubt........... Hopefully it's just the cold, but it could be anaemia or something else so best to get him checked. Good luck! :ahh:

I agree a vet check is necessary in this case. Best to nip whatever it is in the bud. A consultation fee now could save £100's and a lot of suffering.

Hi and welcome to Purrs.
Fingers crossed your boy is just feeling the cold a bit and as others have said doesn't want to go out for that reason. He may have picked up a bit of a cold which is why he is feeling a bit down but I'm sure your vet will be able to sort him out.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

:welcome: to Purrs.
I think a vet check is needed and hope it is nothing serious.

Took Freddie to the vet last night and the only thing he could find wrong was a fever. Treated him with anti-inflammatory and antibiotics and before bedtime he was looking much better. This morning he is almost back to his normal self and has ventured out again. Back to the vets tonight for a further check, but hopefully Freddie will be fully recovered in a couple of days. Thanks for your kind words.

Phew that's good news .... sounds like he had picked up a bit of a cold (sorry Man Flu  ) and was feeling sorry for himself - typical boy!!
Glad he has perked up.

AWWW just caught up with this sorry...
Sorry to here Freddie had been unwell and glad to hear he was feeling better after the jabs. My boys are very woosy compared to my girls when they are feeling poorly. The antibiotic jab and anti inflamatory always perks them up.....
I always say better to be safe than sorry....
hugs to you and head kisses from my fur babes to Freddie
