Title: Cat cleaning
Post by: Janeyk on October 14, 2008, 08:02:33 AM
My Schui is an old boy and suffers with sinus (snotty) problems.  We keep his nose clean for him but it tends to run when he's sleeping, on his tail and feet.  It's not easy to clean as it gets all stuck up, he's fine about cleaning face and tail but not his paws.  I've been using aloe vera wipes from Tescos which I keep in the car and they're okish but I've hear of some sort of wipes possibly available on Cat Chat, does anyone know of these?  I've looked but can't see them.  Thanks.

Hi Jane,

Pets At Home do cat and dog (ie suitable for both) cleaning wipes, as do Wilkinsons.  I have also heard Johnsons baby wipes suggested.

I would stop the Aloe Vera wipes asap, it can be toxic to cats. I use either baby wipes or a warm, damp flannel.

I took both cats to the vets for their boosters/health checks last night and the vet said to use any baby wipes or cleansing tissue things, I did tell her what I'd used on occasion and she didn't say not to I don't think they were strong they were for use with children.  Anyhow I'll try the Johnsons thanks for the advice.
