Hi!
I've been perusing and chatting with people about adopting a kitty over the past week or so and have been advised to post on here to help me find a suitable adoptee.
I live in Nottingham. I am a Warden on a University campus in a fully self-contained flat, for this reason I would be looking for a house cat. I would love to let the cat out but it really isn't ideal for 70% of the year since there are students around and I wouldn't feel comfortable about that unless it was supervised (ie on a harness/cat leash). For this reason I feel that I can provide a comfortable home for perhaps a golden oldy, FIV+ cat, etc. Preferably a good old moggy cat.
I live alone and work a normal 37 hour week. I have no other pets, but cats have always been in my life. Its only since having my own place for a few years that I've missed it.
Travelling far to adopt a cat may be a problem as I don't have a car, but I do have access to one if needs be.
I have not been home checked, but happy to do so.
Please let me know if you have any ideas/questions etc.
p.s would not be advisable to adopt until early November as I am away at the end of October and rather unfair to take a confused little puss to a cattery as soon as its moved into a new home!!!
Many thanks,
Charlotte

Hi Sam!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I have looked at the cats on here. Have taken some interest but seems they wanted more outdoor time. And I have actually seen the website you've sent me and called them, but they don't actually have any FIV cats at the moment..perhaps the site is out of date, but I've left my details with them....Many thanks for the info
Cheers,
Charlotte

Oh dear that's a shame .. well a shame for you ... not for the kitties who now have a home.
I would definitely give the rescues a call as most of the smaller ones don't have enough hours in the day to look after their kitties and keep the website upto date and have a life as well.
It's also worth keeing an eye on the rehoming section and if the right furbabe comes up that is "out of the area" don't be put off as we have ways and means of transporting kitties if it means a kitty can live with the perfect slave ;)

Thanks Sam...
Have just called the Central Rescue Centre and left a message, as I know they're looking for homes for golden oldies and FIV+ cats..... fingers crossed!
Will keep looking on the pages here and hope something crops up :) Thanks for all the support. Everyones so nice on here...but then cat lovers do tend to be the nicest people anyway....

What about these two, both golden oldies and one is blind so a secure home needed.. They are in East Kent with a local charity.

Ayup Wixy, I just posted on your other thread to say I'm at Ashfield CP and I'm keeping an eye out for you ;)

Hi again, I've just replied on the other thread that I've found my little treasure so I'm sorted. I would love to take them all to be honest but I really don't think my flat is big enough.
Again, thanks for everyone help. Could an admin/mod move this thread as sorted please.
Many thanks,
Charlotte xx
