I knew I should have kept my big trap shut about never having had fleas!
I have a couple of bites but they weren't in the places I'd normally associate flea bites and as I am a tasty meal for any bug who is hungry I just shrugged it off. Tonight something made me have a quick look on Dave's neck and what do you know, there was a little flea scuttling through his fur
I'm blaming Chilli and her recent mouse hunting obsession.
Of course there's nothing I can do about it this evening, will have to wait till tomorrow and of course, guess what I'll be doing all weekend. Can anyone recommend a good household flea killer for the bed and sofa etc that is easily available? Don't want to have to wait for an internet order.

You should be able to get Indorex spray from your vets. It gives 12 months protection and also kills dust mites.
Oh dear I do hope this doesn't provoke a Purrs flea sharing thing like I remember happening a year or so ago!!!

Fleas, euggggh - disgusting. I've never had fleas in my house :shify: :evillaugh: I vote Indorex too, you can get it from the vets, Pets at Home, Boots or local pharmacies.

Just been having a root through his fur, as you do, as much as he'll let me and his delicious tummy has even got them! There aren't loads but enough for me to be a mean meowmy and not let him lie on me.
Why aren't the shops and vet open NOW!!! Never had them before and I'm not liking it one bit.

Dave has now been treated, very good boy he was too, about half an hour ago and I think they are beginning to die as he's going a bit mental and meowing. Just need to wait for Chilli, no doubt with mouse in mouth :tired: I think she'll be a lot more difficult to put the Advocate onto.

Ugh, I hate fleas. My furry ones caught them a few months ago (have no idea where they came from :-:). No matter what I used they were still around. Luckily they finally got the message and died :evillaugh:
Good luck!

Both got their Advocate now, no mouse from Chilli tonight either which is a nice change.
Oh pooh, I've just looked over at Chilli and she is doing her best to lick off the Advocate. Cats!

Uhh I also hate fleas. We always used Advantage but when Frontline became available at PAH we bought that. Jameson got fleas since, I don't know whether Frontline didn't work aswell as Advantage or what as I always de-flea him on time. I will stick to Advantage from now on.
I will look up Indorex too, as my legs have been itching like mad the past few days.... as a 'coincidence, Jameson sleeps on a blanket... on my legs. :-[

The Frontline from PAH will just kill the adults and have no effect on the eggs (so if there are eggs in the environment they can hatch and you still end up with a flea problem). Frontline combo (adult and egg killer) is only available on prescription.
Did you de-flea the house as well?

We are now currently flea free! :na na naa na:

I am very sorry, maybe the ones from us decamped to you :evillaugh:

Interesting, didn't know that. Haven't deflead the bed, because the flea powder we have at home is not recommended to use in beds/bedding. Will take his blanket outside, give it a de-fleaing and then wash in the machine I think. Will look up Indorex as I think that sounds like something we should have at home anyway.
