Today should have been an awful day with the worry of Pedro and Ollie both at vets.
It is also my late fathers 80th birthday, I have been weepy all week and worrying how I`d get through the day, well I needn`t have, Peddy and Ollie are ok and I swear my late dad who nurtured my love of animals sent me a present, 5 poor little black and white kittens who at 6 weeks old have been through hell, they arrived in an open topped council plastic recycling box and were covered in dry faeces that had been on them for ages, they have the trots too, they had been kept in a crate on newspaper. The man who brought them put the box down said alright and ran. Have combed all the dry tish from their coats ,washed their botties deflead and wormed, fed them and placed them in a pen with an outside run and dear Lord they think they are in heaven, I have sat on Busters Bench watching them with tears of pure joy running down my face. When my dad was on his death bed he was trying to describe the work I do to his friend and in his confused state he referred to cats as flying fish. I dont usually name kittens myself but the four boys and 1 girl have been named already in dads honour.
Koi
Marlin
Minnow
Sprat
Shrimp
I know this may seem silly but just wanted to share. Will try and get pics tomorrow.

It turned out to be a very good day after all. What a wonderful gift for the little flying fish cats ;D

Well I found everything I expected this morning, poop in the bed, poop in the scratching post, poop on the floor, poop in an empty food bowl but the litter tray was lovely and clean
bless these little angels, am sure the toilet training wont take too long as all the poop has been put in the tray. They are so scrawny and little Sprat has a weak back leg due to being malnourished,we`ll soon sort that too.At 5.30 this morning the wee ones were out in the outside run climbing up the mesh yelling at me wondering why I was sat on Busters Bench enjoying coffee while they waited for breakfast. My dad would have loved them.
-
Awwwwwww! They are gorgeous!
-
Awwww T, these little ones are stunning :Luv:
I love their names too, your Dad, I'm sure, is smiling down on you and these gorgeous babies :Luv: :Luv:
-
:Luv: Just lovely.

How are the little fishies today?
-
How are the little fishies today?
Yesterday was another day of poop everywhere and in the most inaccessible places but this morning I was amazed to find trays had been used, long may it continue. Fishies are all eating well and putting on much needed weight, they still think they are in an adventure playground and having the time of their little lives. They are adorable. Not had a minute spare to get proper pics as rushed off my feet with sick ones and trapping more.
-
Hooray for them using their trays, clever little Fishies! Glad they are eating well and behaving themselves, they must know how busy you are so they are being helpful and behaving themselves :wow: They sound wonderful.
-
glad they are settling in and learning the house rules T
-
Awww bless them :Luv:
-
glad to hear everything is going well for this little lot long may it continue!
-
All 5 now potty trained so things are better for them, they are eating well have shed their fleas, deposited several large roundworms on Pen floor on Friday night and now they are doing exactly what they should be,playing, purring and creating mischief.
-
if only they all went to plan like this!
-
Oh, ye shall hev a fishie, on a little dishie, ye shall hev a fishie when the boat comes in......... ;D
Glad these little tiddlers are doing well now Teresa.
-
I spoke too soon, found 2 stray poops this morning which I think are from Shrimp who prefers the hooded tray in the outside run, I am guessing it was too cold to go to the outside lavvy last night   Not at all worried its only a minor setback and we will get there.
-
They are so cute and thats such a lovely story behind their names, brought tears to my eyes!
-
These little ones all had first vaccinations on Friday and Sprat and Shrimp have been reserved today though its going to be almost 4 weeks before they leave us.
-
Aww, this is wonderful news, glad they have been reserved.
-
Not good pics I`m afraid, one tiny bit of sunlight and all 5 of the little cat fish found it on top of the scratching post in the outside run. Milly the feral mum to (Noor and Roshan) found her little spot above.
-
And what an adorable bundle of little fishes they are too :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
Well little Marlin has been sick this afternoon and is crying a lot so I have to take all 5 to vets at 5.40, just hope they arent coming down with something.
Koi, Spratt and Shrimp are all reserved and I`ve got 2 lots of people interested in the other 2 as a pair.
-
oh dear, hope they are soon sorted xx
good news about the homes
-
Hope the vet visit goes well
-
Vets not sure whats wrong, temperatures normal but 2 of litter have thickened intestines, all have had an antibiotic jab just incase and Marlin back to vets in morning if no better. They were all happy and bright this morning enjoying a spot of Sun, just goes to show how quickly kittens can go down.
-
Fingers crossed for Marlin and hope the others don't come down with anything
-
Hope they all have a good day and Marlin doesn't have to go back to the vets again today
-
Still undecided about Marlin this morning, will keep an eye on him and decide if he needs the vet later.
-
What also makes me sad about cases like this is, (we deal with one almost daily especially between April and December) unless mum has sadly been killed where is she, will she be allowed to go on to have more and more kittens and have a sad little life?
-
I offered to take mum and spay at my expense but sadly I was told she was long gone.
-
How are this family now T?
-
All fine and Marlin and Minnow went to new home today.
-
That is good
-
Koi, Spratt and Shrimp went to their new home together on Friday .
