I need some advice, I was coming down my stairs from my flat and there is a young Kitten (4-5 mnths old) running in the lobby
He was terrified to start off with, but quickly came to me. I am going to be putting up posters and put an add in local paper. but
me being the big softie that I am, I was contemplating adopting Him. that was until a few minutes ago :(
as most of you know I have My Misty who is 17 and when I lost Hamish (I did think of getting another cat to keep him company)
but cat's being cat's I decided not to, mainly because I did not want Misty being harrassed by some other cat/kitten in His elderly
years or having his nose knocked out of place.
I took the youngster into my flat (Misty was sleeping in the bedroom) and He was having a good old sniff around the place, living room
kitchen etc,etc I went to the bedroom and let Misty smell my hands, he also had a good sniff but seemed unconcerned
5 mins later the youngster walks into the bedroom and Misty saw Him first, curiously He followed the youngun sniffing, I was amazed
by His hackles not being raised and his relaxed body language 8)
The youngster on the other hand when He turned round and saw Misty immediately went into the defensive position, and for the
size of Him the noises of gurring and spitting were pretty loud and aggressive, and what does my Misty do in return..............?
Nothing, no change of body language or facial expression, Not a thing 8) 8) 8)
The wee butter then ran of into the spare room and went behind the pc, Misty casually followed, still sniffing the carpet all the time
when He got to the spare bedroom doorway, the little cat started hissing and growling again, I was kinda expecting Misty to be the
aggressor, after all, it is His House !! at that point I decided that was enough, I'll try again and will see what happens, I know its only
their first meeting
Ach I dont need this just now
has anyone got some advice for me HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give it time?
The main obstacle has been overcome which is mist's nose not being put out of joint, although I do wonder if an energetic young cat might annoy Misty when he wants to sleep & chill?
-
I know mark, it is gonna be a hard decision :( I think the wee one is just frightened
and to top it all off I goto go and babysit my neice justnow so I have put the youngster
in the lavy
I shouldnt be long

Problem Solved :wow: I came out of my flat and the polish guy across from me ask's have you seen black cat ??
his wife had been crying, so glad it had a happy ending ;D
just wish I took some photos of the Handsome fellow :(
I think the young one would have came round in time, He was sitting on a window ledge hissing and spitting
and Mistys just sitting there licking His arse :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
But as you said mark , I probably would've got annoyed if I ended up keeping Him, and He'd keep jumping on Misty
you forget how lively these little furballs can be :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
gee, now its over Im finally seeing what a panic I was in :scared: :-: :evillaugh:

Hi ya Stu,
Glad to hear the little one is back home with his mummy and daddy :)

Maybe you could follow up with some info on neutering as some visitors dont know the importance as they may have grown up with cats running amok all over the place
-
When I mentioned it to Margaret ( local CPL woman ) that was the first thing she said " about them getting the wee boy neutered "
I think she said they would get £26:50 off if they got a voucher from the CPL towards the operation ?? I told her the main Problem is
the language barrier because they are Polish and dont know a lot of english, they stay in the Flat across from me and I cant see them
letting the cat out either.
but if I see them in the landing I may " try " and ask How He's getting on and query if they are going to have Him Neutered??
