Received a call from my younger brother about an hour ago to say Oscar, our family dog had gone on his final vet visit. He'd had a couple of severe health problems this year due to age and this time he couldn't fight it and was unable to walk.
Oscar was a rescue dog and had a lovely temperament. He was very protective of us, and as he got older he actively sought out fuss. I'll miss him greeting me at the door when I visit my mums.
Sleep well, Oscar - we loved you very much.

Sorry to hear of your loss, he looked a gentle soul...and posed like a professional for that photo!

He really was gentle. When my family first got him he was prone to running as soon as the lead was taken off - he'd been returned to the rescue twice already.
I don't think he was posing, I think he'd just been called by whoever took the photo - he was a naturally handsome dog. :)

Oh JS I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. Please accept my sincere condolences.
RIP Oscar xxx

Thank you, Sam. My Mum says it still seems odd in the kitchen because he loved curling up in the corners near the cupboards - he used to get in the way when she was trying to cook. Funny lad.
