Just saw Winston had a matt round his ruff ( only combed him a couple of days ago -so it only got there tonight) and when i was holding him -he yowled - so then noticed his ear inside was very pink , then saw some scratches inside his ear with dried blood- this has been done i think around late this afternoon /evening when he went out the front garden.
Don''t think he has been in a fight as no other signs on him anywhere - looks like he has been through a prickly bush and his ear has got scratched just inside.
Have bathed it is some salt water , but its obviously sore - anything i could put on it cream wise and do you think he needs to see the vet on Tuesday ?
Will bathe it again tomorrow ,but wish i could take the soreness out in some way !?

Poor Winston :care: As far as I know human antiseptic creams should never be used on cats so I would just continue bathing it with cool boiled salt water, if it's still looking sore on Tuesday then best to pop him along to the vets.

Yes, thats what i thought.
Will bathe it again tomorrow a couple of times and then check it again on Tuesday.
They aren''t deep , just sore surface scratches -about 3 or 4 - sure its a prickly bush he''s been in !
Will have to see if there is a antiseptic cream for cats to keep in for cases like this !
I keep a basic fist aid kit for them - lectade, katalax, pro -something for sickness and the runs , could do with a few more odds and ends -for times when the ve is closed as mine are always ill on a week-end or evening after the vets have closed -then i worry all night till i get them there the next day !

Anyone keep any antiseptic cream in that i could buy and add to my cat first aid kit for little scratches like this ?
It still looks sore today , have bathed it and will do again later this evening.

Have a look on vet uk, most importantly make sure its labelled safe for cats not dogs as sometimes vetuk put cat but the dosage is for dogs :shify:

Anyone heard of Multiderm ?
Supposedly for pets and livestock -have emailed to check its ok for cats -but no answer till tomorrow !
Anyone used any cream for small cuts and wounds ??
