Title: Paint on paws
Post by: hels on August 24, 2008, 23:12:04 PM
Josh just ran through a paint tray and got emulsion paint on his paws. I managed to catch him quite quickly and clean his paws but he definitely licked some of it. I've been watching him like a hawk in case he gets ill, but will a little paint do him any harm?

Silly Josh ... hope he's had no ill effects.  At least it was emulsion and easily washed off.

My Bunty did that over a year ago, I caught her quick and washed it off thoroughly but kept an eye on her for a good few days - she was fine though.

probably depends on the kind of paint too, but do you not know this? http://www.freddie-street.com/guide/wcpaint.shtml

"Why Cats Paint" was given to me some years ago by a friend. It's really funny. If you read it, look out for Bootsie and her rage art  :evillaugh:

My 2 have done that before - they've had paint and varnish on their paws.  They were never ill from it.

Unless it was a specialist emulsion e.g. algicidal, anti-corrosion you shouldn't have a problem.

Skye regularly helps us paint   >:(.  Always washed it straight off and she's been fine.
