After saying that I was closed whilst I reduce my numbers, I could not refuse these three little babes. They were found by a lovely lady on her way to work who heard cries coming from a piece of waste ground inbetween two houses where a house has been demolished some years previously. The waste ground is overgrown and fenced off from the road, so someone had to go to some effort to put them there. :censored:
The poor babies were in an open cardboard box so obviously just left to die. It rained last night and this morning and the poor little ones were very cold. :'(
They are now in my small intensive care unit, with a snugglekitty and have taken their first feed very well. There is a grey, a grey and white and a small little black one, the black one only weighs 185g. Will hopefully post photos later.
How can people be so evil to just dump them in such a place - there is no need in this day and age. >:(
-
thats horrible! how could anyone do something like that? :censored:
I hope they thrive in your care Lesley :)
-
Aww, the poor babies, I do hope they do well with you Lesley
-
everytime I see a box by the side of the road I slow down, I can see why people do this on rescue doorsteps (though not fair on people on the waiting list at least it gives the kittens a chance) but to knowingly leaving them to die is wicked
-
That is discusting, I have no idea how someone could sleep at night after doing something so terrible! >:( At least they are in the right place now- I hope they do really well
-
oh no how awful! I'm sending good vibes over to you as we speak!
-
Thank goodness they are safe and sound with you now Lesley. :Luv2:
I cant understand how people can go through life with no concience, they must have ice in their viens and no heart at all. >:( >:( >:(
-
Evil people! Glad they are now well looked after.
-
I always wonder what happens to the mums, guess they just run off :(
-
Evil scum >:(
Glad they are in your care Lesley
-
Well done to the nice lady for rescuing them and of course well done you for taking them in.
Do they have names yet?
How about Foggy for the grey; Storm for the grey and white and Sky for the Black one.
-
Sadly this type of thing is happening daily and even more sadder is the fact the mum will go on to have more and more litters and all will possibly suffer the same fate. The main problem is that there are thousands of kittens looking for homes and not too many people wanting them. I know some rescues have between 50 & 80 kittens in care and daily are bring offered dozens, people think they are doing us a favour and when you pick up the phone say proudly I have some kittens for you as if they are doing us a favour.
Perhaps I should add this this problem is also is applicable to adult cats and often sick or very old cats.

I think those names suit them very well Sam, so yes they do have names, but the grey and white one is a girl and the black one is a boy so have swapped their names around, if that's alright. :Luv2:
-
I would love to say I was shocked Lesley but as we all know this is all too familiar!!! <sigh>
Thrilled to hear that the little ones have landed with you though... they couldn't be in better hands! :) sending lots of positive vibes for the little ones

Poor babies :( Hope they thrive in your care Lesley, let us know how they're getting on
-
Lesley, am very glad you wree able to take these babies on, bless them. Love their names. Well done Sam! ;D
I always think the same about boxes or bags by the side of, or in the road. I've had people laugh at me before for going back to check.

Not a problem at all Lesley ... :) so please Foggy, Storm and Sky are safe and well.
Please give them a big hug from their Aunty Sam

I am so glad its not just me with the box thing.
I always wonder why they are there.
It is heartless for someone to do that in this day and age, but animal cruelty is on the up. When new laws are brought out. Hopefully there will be less kittens to be cruel to.
I am really glad they are safe, they have at least fallen on thier feet where care is concerned.
-
I do the same with bags and boxes I see in or near the road or if I am walking somewhere. I actually did an emergancy stop the other night while out delivering pizzas (there were no other cars around) because there was a bin bag in the road! Once I could see that there was nothing in it, I carried on. OH thinks its funny that I check boxes and bags so I have to ignore him making jokes about it.
I can't understand how anyone could do that to poor helpless bundles of fluff and not be wracked with guilt forever.
-
How are the babies doing Lesley???
-
The babies are doing fine, sorry for not updating on them but had sleepless nights feeding them and just as they are old enough to go through the night, I have five ten days old ones to handrear.
I think, however, Storm is now a little girl so, with some lateral thinking - Storm = Storming Norman = Norman = Norma = Nora, she now has the name Nora. :innocent:
Foggy and Sky have already been reserved but will be with me until November as their new dad has holiday booked so I have said I will hold on to them until after then.
Will try and post piccies later.
-
Storm could've been a girls name!
Glad they're all well.
-
Glad they are doing well, and I think Storm is nice for a girl as well as a boy.
-
Ahhh so pleased they are doing well and great news that Foggy and Sky already have a new Daddy lined up.
-
Okay, Storm willl remain Storm ;D
-
