I put my ear against a purring tummy with the Swampcat a few days ago and heard not just the lovely vibrrrrations but his tum quite active sound-wise - lots of gurgling or rumbling tum sounds. Max was the same.
Since then, Max's tum is much quieter or silent, but Swampy's continues to gurgle and rumble. Is this normal?! First time I've noticed it and he's 16, so I have no idea if it's always been like that or if it's his diet! (k/d = no more need for lactulose at all). I can't try when he isn't purring as when I put my ear to his tum, he starts purring!
I wondered if all or a lot of cats make this tum noise?

Zebedee's gurgles like crazy - he's SOOOO full of gas bless. Not so bless when he releases it though

Clapton's used to gurgle a lot before his CRF stabilised. I used to give he slippery elm but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Fergus used to "let off" quite a bit of gas when he was younger , hence us nicknaming him Fergaseous. He still gets called it and all you need to call him is "gas gas" and he turns around :Luv:

Charlie's tummy gurgles sometimes and he burps occasionally too.
-
Yep my guys tummys gurgle and Vesti burps :evillaugh:

Swamp last had bloods done end April so is due more so I'll be able to see if it's maybe related to his CRF or tum acid. He doesn't burp (or worse!) and enjoys his k/d as long as it hasn't gone hard (ie 10 mins after putting on the plate it's like little rocks >:( ). So I'll have to ring and find out when the most senior nurse is on duty as no-one can keep his head still for blood tests, especially when he's not feeling too .
Could it be something from swallowing yuk from his cold do you think?

I have gurgly tummied cats too!
Dave seems to be a bit of a farter too, always when he's about half an inch from my nose too
Burping? What does a cat burp sound like, this is an entirely new phenomena to me.
-
Yes, Genghis' especially - he too likes to pass wind when he's next to my nose!

Okay, in the last two days, Dave's farts are frequent and highly toxic  And the noises his tummy makes  Roll on payday when I can get him some better quality food and hopefully reduce the fumes emanating from his posterior. I swear he's dropping one every five minute like clockwork and they are foul beyond belief

I have never hear of cats farting before, I didn't think they could
However the old ex stray Jimi seems to have hiccups a fair bit after food heh heh.
-
Yeah Layla actually even makes the farty noise when she passes wind when as Oscar is silent and deadly. hehe!

I've heard Harvey's tummy gurgling in the morning when he's ready for his breakfast.
Never once I have ever heard them fart - or smelt that they'd farted either. I didn't think cat's did fart!! :heeee heeee:
