I don't like the sound of these at all. :'(
What do you lot think??

I saw something like this on dragon den a few years ago. The guy was trying to sell them as a fashion item as well as a furniture saver :shify:
-
I don't like that all :Nooooo: So unatural!!!
-
I dont like them at all but in some cases it has to be better than the cat being declawed
-
I don't like them either.

Urrggg NO  >:(

De-clawing is just unnecessary and cruel ! Makes my :censored: blood boil.
What is the matter with getting a scratching post or two and trimming claws regularly.

I had the BIGGEST arguement with an American a couple of months ago who thinks nothing of declawing cats (I ended up bursting into tears and running upstairs) anyhoo, people like him think scratching posts and trimming claws has no effect :-: It was like screaming at a brick wall :(

I think they are sometimes used for medical reason
-
They do have their place for when it is necessary to stop the cat doing physical damage to themselves, a couple of people on here have used them for that reason. I would also much rather that then declawing.

This is true, they are sometimes used to stop the cat injuring themselves but when I think of thm bing used by people just because they can't accept a cat's natural behaviour, it makes me really sad. Why have an animal if you're not willing to accept this natural behaviour? Cats have claws for a very good reason and this all seems very wrong to me.
I have seen lots of adverts for these products recently and have even been getting spam e mails about them and keep getting quite qorked up about it- I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I don't like them unless they are for medical reasons, eg to stop a cat scratching themselves, but they are better than declawing. I can't understand why someone would declaw a cat, but if a suggestion to try soft claws instead means a cat gets to keep his claws then I'm all for them in those circumstances. Wish people would just accept that cats come with claws though.

Generally I don't agree with these if they are for decoration or to stop the cat clawing furniture and things .....
However, if they can stop a cat continually scratching they can work, in fact I've just suggested them to my mate Frank's Mum (Tessa) on here as Frank keeps scratching the same patch and its just not healing, so it might help in that situation.
