Title: How can anyone not think black cats are lovely?

Post by: maryas on August 17, 2008, 21:51:17 PM: Totally agree Mark - when my Smudge went missing last September, the amount of black cats I went to look at was unbelievable and people were so amazed at how I could tell with just one quick look that it wasn't him. They all have their own special look in their eyes and I miss my darling so much. :hug:

I used to get people saying, I don't know how you tell them apart - but of course I could (usually)! and my very first cats were three sisters, all black. This is one of them, my lovely Sophie, back in the 1970s. :Luv: Always loved black cats - don't have any now though, seem to have gone all pastel LOL!

Used to spend a lot of time at her house (with the cat not her) so I have a huge soft spot for black cats. But then again, I have a huge soft spot for any cat :briggin:

Still don't have a black one - may have to put it to my hubby!

My neighbour has a lovely pure black cat, he likes to come in the house, I did accidentally shut him in earlier, and have absentmindedly given him treats before realising that it was the wrong black cat!!

I had to transport some kitten my branch of CP took in to the National Cat centre on Sat and of course I had to go and say hello to all the resident kitties and the majority were black/ B&W. The NCC even put lovely poems up on the pens of black cats to try and entice people to give them a look.

I absolutely adore my Oscar (He has got white feet and bib so deviating from black cat slightly!!!) and he is so sleek and handsome because of his shiny dark coat. We also had a family cat called Ozzy who was pure black and just stunning.

and i totally agree - jaspers very good at disappearing when he blinks. if hes at a distance or in a shadow the only way to tell which way he's facing is : no holes or 2 holes = face, one hole = .... other end! :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
