Title: Today is a very special day!
Post by: tigerbaby on August 13, 2008, 11:10:06 AM
....because it was the first time the whole year we've had Jameson I witnessed him DRINK from his INDOOR waterbowl!! I know it sounds silly, but I was going insane worrying about him not getting enough fluids. Someone on here mentioned putting a large ceramic dog bowl outside filled with water, and that worked - I saw him drink from that bowl a few times, so I put a small ceramic bowl indoors with water about 2 months ago.. And lo and behold - today he drank from it. The water in the bowl is about 2 days old - but that is how he seems to like it (he will only drink the outdoor water if it's slightly manky with dead flies in it!)

Feels like a relief that I now can worry less about always mixing water into his wet food. I will continue doing it on occassion, as he loves the gravy, but at least I wont have to obsess over it!  ;D

That's brill.  I know how you feel because when I got Bonnie in December (she's 10 yrs old) she didn't seem to be drinking a lot of water but then I noticed she was drinking and thought it was just my imagination.

My last cat, Smudge was an outdoor cat and I always had a bowl of water outside for him all year round for when I wasn't in.

Hope he keep up the good work and stops worrying you.  :Luv2:
