Title: Blood in poop
Post by: catalyst on August 08, 2008, 11:10:12 AM
Just now Pagan did a rather smelly poop which had blood in it. Her poops are going down hill the past couple of days and i think its probably the meat i give her. She gets half a can of applause kitten meat plus James Wellbeloved kibble.

She is getting her vaccines in a few days time. Is the blood something that would require a vet visit now. She is prefectly fine in herself.

A vet visit might be a good idea - I have the same problem with Jerry at the moment - the vet gave him some paste and some tablets.

Yeah i think il take her and if all is ok she can get her vaccine too. Though if her tum is upset they tend to not give the vaccine until she is better.

I think though that it might be the kibble. Might need to be soaked a little.

Bacteria grows very quickly on wet kibble, it shouldnt be soaked. Have you recently introduced one or other of the foods?

Is she being wormed regularly as those foods are not particularly known for being dodgy for tummies. How much is she eating?

Yup worming all up to date. She gets half a tiny tiny tin of kitten Applaws and about 35g of kibble.

I introduced the Applaws recently. Its a very natural food.

Shes not had any more blood in her poops so i think it was a one off. Her poos have been smelly so i thikn its the tins.

Unless they have changed it recently Applaws is only a complementry cat food and not a complete cat food and should only be given as treat.

Ela, it is fine if fed alongside a complete food, which James Wellbeloved is.

Yeah. She only gets half a tin a day at lunch because Milo gets a bit too of the cat type. He also gets JWB. Just for a bit of variety.
