Last night, he seemed lethargic and didn't stay in the basement at all which is usually where he spends most of his time. I put it down to the heat, although the basement is cooler  When I went to bed, he was curled up on the bed in the 1st floor front bedroom which is unusual for him. He didn't respond to a fuss but seemed OK otherwise. (OH stayed with him just in case) That was 2am. At 6am when when got up, he threw up in several places and drank some water but didn't want any food. I had to drop OH off at the station but came back for 10 minutes to check on Clapton as I had to dash off for a hospital appointment at 9am. I noticed some reddish brown "curdle" in the vomit. As soon as I came out of the hospital, I phoned the vet but they said just to withdraw food for the day and see how he goes. She said he could have strained coughing (possibly furrball) Anyway, I was out for the day and we had arranged that when I got back at 4pm, if he hadn't perked up, I could take him straight in. He seems a bit better but still not eating :( - He went in the garden and tried to gum some grass and is now back up in the kitchen sleeping. I will see how he goes tonight and take him in the morning if he is no better. I would happily take him now but vet trips stress him so much that he hides for a day after one and I think a vet trip is the last thing he needs if he is feeling poorly (if that makes sense) anyway, our vet is open 24/7 so I will just monitor him. Poor Clapton :(

Poor Clapton. After my experience today with Blip, I can only say pop the little chap along to the vets tomorrow if he is still under the weather because it might be something totally unexpected (and easily sorted)
-
Hope he's ok
-
Hope he feels better
-
Oh sorry to hear Clapton is under the weather Mark
Hope he has perked up soon
Lots of Love from me and my girls
-
Well he has eaten - although I was made to open more than a few types before one met his lordship's approval :evillaugh:
I don't mind - he's worth it :Luv2:
I think he will be fine - the blood did give me a scare :scared:
-
Mark, glad to hear that Clapton seems a bit better now.
-
Ahh poor Clapton ... sorry to hear he is feeling a bit poorly ... I hope it's just the heat and the threat of thunderstorms that is making him a bit "sensitive"
Big hugs and get well soon vibes from me and the gang xxx

It's odd but all 4 of them have thrown up over the last couple of days. Willow is always sicking up after grass (on my arm today when I was trying to catch it on a cloth )
The other 2 very rarely. I wondered if there was a bit of a bug. I'm trying not to leave wet food out in the day at the moment because of flies and eggs
I will just have to keep an eye on them. (http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn224/MarkB_014/IMG_1170.jpg)
-
Hope they all pick up now
-
That is a lovely picture Mark :Luv2:
-
Thanks :)
It's an old one taken a couple of hours after he had a dental with extractions >:(

Poor Clapton. He's too nice to be feeling poorly. Give him a big hug from me. ;)
-
Glad he is feeling better
-
Just caught up with this Mark, how's Clapton feeling now? Hope he's much better
-
He'a quite a bit better thanks but not eating much. Getting meds down him is out of the question. He seems fine but just not eating loads so no chance of him wolfing laced food - hopefully he will be back to normal by tomorrow :Luv2:
-
Pleased he is feewling a bit better and probably just the weather.
Mine all eat grass, well maybe not Sasa, and they do it to make themselves sick, which Franta was today and for once outside!
-
I think that is one of the problems is that with no teeth, he struggles to eat any grass. When it is lush, he can manage some but it is scrubby at the moment.
-
I am glad Clapton is a bit better today, Mark i have been giving some goats yogurt to Boy when he doesnt want to eat his food and he loves it and it also help setteling his tumy a bit, may be you can try and see if Clapton likes that.
-
Glad Clapton is feeling better, think the Heat has something to do with it as well, cause misty has been vomiting a wee bit in the morning's too
but mostly fur (the joy's of long hair) also sleeping in unusual (cooler) places, in lobby, or in front of door's
been giving Him slippery elm bark these past few days and that seem's to have helped.
Have you tried Clapton on the Felix senior??? Misty cant get enough of it justnow
I hope Clapton is on the road to recovery now, keeping fingers crossed :Luv:
-
He had been on Felix senior for about 5 months now. I think the regular is too rich for him now. I let him eat whatever he wants and whenever he wants it :Luv2:
-
I've just seen this thread. I hope Clapton's feeling better today.
-
He is a bit better but still no pills. Also he is staying upstairs out of the way as Alice is becoming a bit of a bully - he is a pushover for other cats as he never retaliates :(
-
Well Clappy is a lot better now - I don't think I could cope with 2 sick cats :(
-
That's good news Mark
-
Great News :wow: ;D
-
That's great news, well done Clapton :Luv:
-
