Title: Kitten Treats.....can you give them adult ones
Post by: Hannikat on July 08, 2008, 16:20:31 PM
I'm off to stock up on food for when the kittens arrive (10am on Thursday eeeeeeeeeeep!). I was going to buy some pouches since this is what they eat now. And some all in one dry (which I'm going to introduce slowly). I'm also gonna buy kitten milk (just in case) and some treats. Can I buy them normal 'cat' treats as I've never seen 'kitten' ones

As treats are a small % of a diet adult ones would be ok

They are called Milky Flake-ums (even tho there is no actual milk in them ;D and are specially for kittens. Hobbes used to love them when he was a kitten. I used to get them at PAH, they are usually just with the other cat treats. ;D

PAH do some kitten treats too , they are shaped like little hearts and are brown and red.

Mind you my two always muscle in on Beavis treats and so far it doesnt seem to have done them any harm! :evillaugh:

Another vote for milky-flake ums for kittens - the boys loved those :drool;  They weren't keen on the Pets at home own brand kitten treats, they also started on the kitty heroin (whiskas tempations) at quite a young age and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm!

Did you go for chicken & cheese heroin or beef crack cocaine.  Chicken and cheese heroin is the favourite in my drug den  :evillaugh:

I went to PAH today to look for the milky things and I couldn't find them boohoo. I found some milk drop type things but they were kitten of 3 months plus. Nevermind they seem quite taken with cheesy temptations teehee.

Here's what they look like....

They're worth getting as there are zillions in a bag (they're almost like tiny flakes of poppadoms) so will last ages.  A tub of temptations only lasts a few days in my house and that's with me being stingy with them as I don't want them to get fat.

I remember when I first gave Boopy's kittens Milky FlakeUms for the first time, poor Star stuck his head into the pile of them and got one stuck to the end of his nose and was wandering around all confused by it until it fell off

Well I think I can safely say that the cheesy temptations are a big hit. I was feeling like a bit of a mean mummy already as I'm constantly having to clean izzy's eye with warm water so I thought I'm try a treat to see if it made her feel better. I let her have a sniff of the packet first which cause Izzy to come over and have a good sniff. Considering she's not been here long I had her taking it out of my hand and licking the rest of my fingers......bless
