on the odd occassion Jerry and Gizzy have managed to get a few mouthfuls of Beavis' 'posh' cat food.........today when I went to change their litter box I noticed the poos were a bit runny and mucusy.
Could this be becuase the adult cat food is too rich for them? The Kittens are both absolutely fine in themsleves and are currently busy trying to eat each other.
We do feed them seperately but once or twice we have let them out and forgoten that Beavis' food is still down and as he is a grazer there has been ome left in the dish!

It probably is due to the adult food, I had that problem with the kittens I have just fostered, as they were happier eating mum's food than theirs.

Good morning Kirst,
I have not seen any previous threads of yours. How old are the kits? and what is the "posh" food?
-
Hi Yvonne!
The 'posh' food is eithger the Sheba domes, PAH gourmet , that sort of thing! Its the only wet food Beavis will contemplate , but he has Royla Canin dried food too so he gets all his nutrients etc etc.
The kits are now 14 weeks old so they are still on felix kitten food.

It probably is the cause but kitten food is very rich. It's only in recent years that kitten and senior food was available so they would have eaten it anyway. I'm sure it won't do them any harm and they will need to get a taste for it shortly as they won't be kittens for long! :evillaugh:

Hopefully it is just the food....................am keeping a close eye and if its still runny after the weekend off to the vets they go. Will have to take em both as cant be sure which one it is! :tired:
Im sure Mr Jackson will be pleased , me thinks he has a little soft spot for Gizzy! :evillaugh:

Gosh that is one spoilt cat - I hope that Beavis appreciates it. :ahh:
Mine get Whiskas and Felix in the pouches and Tescos own brand in the pouches the cheapest of the lot and actually the preferred variety. The poshest they get is Sheba which they are not actually over fussed on, that is the extent that our local super market sell.
My kits used to steal the adult food which used to make me wonder. When I was at the Vets the Vet said to me "I suppose you give them kitten food" I said "well, actually the kitten food is available to them but they prefer the adult food". He said to me "that is fine it is purely marketing and nothing else and I never give mine kitten food". I felt quite a bit better after that.

I have to admit that Astryd will eat kitten food, but is much happier having the same as the "big cats."

All seems ok now . no more runny poops (even after the curry!) and both full of beans!
