MeToo has developed a small wound on the back of his neck (injection site). My OH took him to the vets earlier and they said it isn't anything to worry about, it's just superficial, but have given us some cream to apply. It actually says 'Fuciderm gel' for dogs!!
I know some dog medicines cannot be used on cats, have they made a mistake or is this safe to use?

Its safe for cats, be sure to either use gloves or wash hands well after applying.

Oh thanks T - thought I might have to wait until the vet opens in the morning, but I know I can trust your advice - ta!

I was reading up on fucidic acid the other day as I was prescribed some cream for an ear infection that has it (+ steroids) in. Apparently, it is a very gentle treatment as it doesn't actually kill bacteria but stops them multiplying - something do with proteins or something - so it isn't harsh. Usually conjunctivitis treatments have it in and so if it's gentle enough to put in eyes...........

Thanks Mark, hope your ear's better now.
But pls don't mention ears to MeToo, it's bad enough everytime he walks through the house purposely OH says, 'he's looking for his ears again'.

My cat has been prescribed fuciderm for over a year now to help ease her skin allergy. Have never had any problems.
