Post by: Dawn F on June 24, 2008, 12:56:06 PM
back from Italy and shocked at the number of ferals, not something I've ever experienced before in 16 years of going there  - does anyone know if other countries have neutering organisations??  my oh actually wanted to bring home a torti kitten but I couldn't bring myself to look

There are organisations out there that do Trapping holidays, this is something Lainey and I will be doing at some stage as soon as I manage to get my numbers down   I'll try and find a couple of links later for you

thanks Dawn, it would be a great place to have a working holiday its only a couple of miles from Assisi so I wondered, because of St Francis, if there would be something local but just couldn't find out and was only there for 5 days

I'm not sure if all the organisations work the same but I know when we were going through, most did say that you had to have experience in trapping  :tired:  There must be a way round it as it's not exactly rocket science, I suppose all that's needed is common sense and knowing not to put your hands in with a feral cat  :shy:  Hopefully by next year, me and Lainey can get something sorted  ;)

that you had to have experience in trapping

Like everything  you can not get 'experience' till you start the first time. Those with 'experience' didnt have it to start with .......everyome needs to start somewhere to bulid up to  get 'experience'

Could be interested in a working holiday lol

I know that and so does everyone else but this is one of the stipulations on most of the sites that me and Lainey looked at.  There must be some out there where experience isn't necessary, I'll have to look.

I'll come!  :wow:

If we manage to get something sorted, we'll let you know, it would be great if a few of us could go  :)
