Just thought I'd mention this as no-one from Cramar has and ther are lots of folk in the midlands area on here.
They are showing off there new vet centre as well.
Judith, Jill and myself will be there from about 1pm so may see you there if you have nothing better to do! The Publicity that went round is
BEHIND THE VETERINARY SCENES IN HOPWOOD !
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to be a vet or work with animals in other ways, Cramar Veterinary Practice in Redditch Road, Hopwood, could have the answer. The official veterinary practice for the Cramar Cat Rescue and Sanctuary is holding an Open Day and Fun Dog Show on Sunday June 22nd from 10am until 2 pm.
The day kicks off with the Fun Dog Show – owners of pets with the waggiest tails and wettest noses should make sure they’re there! There’s also a serious message too, with Scooby Doo himself being put through his paces by a Vet Nurse to teach children about safety around dogs. The “Ask The Vet” tent will offer on the spot advice in return for a donation to the Sanctuary, along with identichipping at a bargain £10. Nutritional advice is on offer from top vet pet food company Royal Canin, with samples and information, along with dental, vaccination and flea treatment information on other stands.
From 1pm onwards, the party moves down the road into the Cramar Veterinary Practice, to see behind the scenes and meet the vets – check out the operating theatre, find out what all those machines do, and learn just what it’s like to be at work with the vets.

Are you sure it is the 22nd? - I thought it was the 17th
I'll be there whatever - wear a big badge so I can come and find you ;D ;D
-
it was a doggy day and introducing their vet services.
I think they said the cramar open day was on the 17th August.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS it is Will you be there????
I will - In my peter storm waterprroof jacket :) - if you are how will I know you? -
I have brown hair in a short bob - and will be carrying lots of kitty treats.
-
Oooooooh, has this the makings of an informal Purrs meet?!? :wow:
I should be there too - starts at 1pm I think?
If the weather was like last year, I shall be sporting a pair of wellies with blue hearts on and a Rachel Hale brolly blown inside out!
What colour is your jacket Gail?
-
Yes am hoping to go along to see our feral puddies (all of them none in particular). Do you know the times for sure as I'm hoping to bring me elderly mum along although she is concerned she will feel too depressed for the puddies needing homes. I've tried to explain it's like an upmarket puddy hotel :)
I'll be the tallish, thinish, almost fiftyish one with glasses in jeans, T shirt and weatherproof bluish jacket avec hood :evillaugh:.
-
I've just checked their 'mewsletter', the funs starts at noon!
-
Thanks Jasmine

Me and me Ma should be there for about 12.30pm. Fingers crossed for no rain. BBC weather website looks hopeful :)
-
Well me and me Ma went and had a lovely time. Didn't realise the feral area (The Paddocks) would be open to visitors. It was fabulous. Just love their indoor area too. It was all very professional and lots of people so difficult to try and figure out who might be Gail and Jasmine. Hope you both had a good time too. Can't imagine how they manage to keep the place so absolutely specklessly clean
-
Yes I was there - spent ages in 'The Paddocks' - looking for my Ferals Saffie & Tabbitha. Didnt go in the rescue bit -it upsets me too much seeing them & knowing I cant take one :'(
I hope they made lots of money they so deserve it -
And what fab weather we had :wow: it was great.

What a lovely day. ;D
I thought I saw a lady and her mum in the Paddocks who fitted your description Rosella, but when I asked her 'Are you Rosella?', she snapped, 'No, I'm not!', at which point I gave up looking :shy: (must wear badges next year girls!).
The rescue bit was sad Gail, there were many cats who had been there a very long time and none were particularly old or had health issues. My favourite was Bootsie (big black & white male, age 4). He gave snuzzles up against the glass and then started pawing at the lock to get out. :( We are really at our limit with 5 though and I'm probably taking a foster at the end of the month too). Mind you, I should be careful what I wish for - Martha is very frail now and I've had some bad news about Metoo today - but that's another thread... when I feel strong enough.

Yes it was a lovely day. Could only stay an hour or so but so enjoyed wandering around The Paddocks. Took some piccies (the smiling old fogie is me Ma :Luv:).
I especially love the tabby and white beauty in the middle of one of the indoor pics, think she and Freddie would make a lovely twosome :Luv:

Must get my photos uploaded.
I could live in the paddocks myself it is so peaceful. I found my Saffie & Tabbitha :) and took others too. I was getting a bit annoyed as people with small children were allowing them to run round at the cats - making them even more scared >:( poor babies.
I have a doughnut bed in the loft my lot obviously don't use :evillaugh: - so I will take that to Cramar when I take my babes for boarding in September along with a bag of catsan litter - I dont use that anymore - so they can make use of it and it will give me space for more food.
I made some catnip bags (some are in the Purrs shop) sold to them friends and made £70 for Cramar :).
Loevly Mum by the way :Luv: x

Looking at the phot of mum - just glad you didnt get me in the background stuffing my burger down my throat :shify:
Mind you if you had -I wouldnt own up due to embarressment :evillaugh:

I was thinking of inviting my brother, his wife and my 2 year old nephew but decided against it for just that reason

I got a lovely photo of Paddy of the paddocks too - will get them sorted -

Super photos, don't know why I didn't think to take the camera.
Is Paddy the ginger jobbie? He was a real fusspot. :Luv:
Rosella, your Mum's not too foggified - did you see the old lady on the 'name the ted' stall? - I got chatting to her and apparently her great grandma went out with Aston Villa's first goalkeeper!
Now my 'Paddy' (Patrick) got a phone call from Cramar yesterday - he's won 2 raffle prizes, both alcoholic, whilst me (who bought the tickets) didn't get a sausage... All for a good cause though. ;D

Ta but she is 86 today and visiting her twin sister (indentical, I never know who is who on the phone as they have identical voices too!) who has about 14 cats in N Ireland. Was 12 cats last time I heard but seems one of the ferals has just had 2 black kitties. Mom (the puddy) has been taken for her op and the 2 kitties are holed up where she left them under the wardrobe in me auntie's bedroom. No idea where I get my love of felines from :evillaugh:
Must have missed the "Name the Ted stall" but got mugged for all remaining loose change at the "name the little white kitty with tabby ears and guess how many kitties rehomed in last 12 months" stall just before we left :evillaugh:
-
I had a go on name the kitten. Well even though I knew it was wrong it was £1.50 in the tin for cramar. On entering the Paddocks for the 2nd time I put £5 in the tin - think was a bit gob smacked. I like to donate to them ;D.
