I have found a lump on Charlies tummy, my first thought was that it could be related to his accident last year (some of you may remember when he fell out of a tree and impaled himself) because his muscles are all lumpy and bumpy where he was put back together. Then Im thinking hernia.
OH has just taken him to the vets and they have said that it feels like a growth but dont think it is sinister. He has got to go for a biospy on Monday Am. I am really worried because when he had his big op they nearly lost him under the anaesthetic and the vet said the his breathing was terrible.
Please send some positive vibes for my boy.

I'm sure they won't keep him under a minute longer than they have to now they know this Sheryl - hugs to you and Charlie

sending lots of positive vibes for charlie.... and  for you.
-
Hope everything goes smoothly for you sheryl
-
Fingers crossed, and hopefully his reaction last year was just because of the length of the op and how serious it was, and that he will be find with this one.
-
i hope both Charlie and your mum do well and that Charlies lump turns out to be nothing to worry about :-)
-
Thank you all - up until he went to the vets yesterday Charlie was fine in himself but I think they must have made him a bt sore because he was really miserable this morning and even growled at me (first time ever)
We really appreciate all your good wishes x Charlie says "thankyou" x
-
How is he today? and how is your mum, will be thinking of you all :Luv:
-
Thankyou all
Hi Caroline - Charlie seems fine in himself and he is not going to be happy on Monday :'( :'(
My Mum is doing really well, thank you for asking xxx
-
Glad to hear your mum is fine.... ;D Also glad Charlie has settled down again...if only till Monday! :Luv: :ahh:
-
Thats great Sheryl :Luv: why won't he be happy on Monday is that when he has an op xx
-
He is supposed to be having a biopsy on Mon but when I felt his Tum today the lump seems to have got a lot smaller and the vet has said we can monitor it so not sure what to do now - I dont want to stress him out unnecessarily but I dont want to risk his health by leaving a lump?
-
Its so hard sometimes to know what to do for the best xx
-
Why don't you starve him in case and ring the vet first thing Monday?
-
How's he doing today Sheryl? x
-
I spoke to the vet this morning and he has said to monitor the lump and he is going to see him on Friday for a check over so hopefully he wont need the op - fingers crossed.
He is the only one of my 5 cats that goes out (he was a stray that adopeted us) and he is such a worry, always getting himself in trouble.
-
Fingers crossed for the vet visit Friday
-
Fingers crossed for Fri.
-
Please try not to worry -
My Issey went "blue" for 35mins under an Op but the next time she had one she was fine.............
I am sure Charlie will be ok, Will keep all fingers crossed xxx

lumps that get smaller is generally very good news. Could be just an inflammatory reaction to something that's now going down and will disappear. Really hope so.
-
Sending positive vibes for the vets on Friday~~~~~~~Good Luck! :Luv:
-
Thank you all - I had a good look at the lump today and it is still going down in size, it looks a bit bruised around the area. The vet said that if it is shrinking in size it is very unlikely to be a tumour - phew.
Will let you all know how he gets on on Friday. X
-
Sounds promising Sheryl, really hope it's nothing to worry about. Healing head kisses to Charlie just in case
-
Good luck for Friday,it does sound like a good sign that it has got smaller, sending lots of luck+love to you both xx
-
Took Charlie today and the vet was really surprised at how much the lump has shrunk and is convinced it is nothing to worry about, we have got to monitor athe lump and if it gets big again he will treat with antibiotics, if it goes down with antibiotics he says it will indicate a foreign body (probably from last years accident) which would have to be removed. Fingers crossed that it stays small and eventually goes completely so no surgery.
Thank you all so much from me and Charlie for you good wishes xxx :thanks:
-
Great news, let us know how he gets on with the AB's.
