Title: Paranoia setting in again. Are your cats acting up in the heat?
Post by: Corporal Smokey on June 11, 2008, 11:21:29 AM
Ok so although Josh is now 13, he's always had these mad half hours where he tears around the house and then starts howling at the top of the stairs. It's often related to him pooping although I've had him checked several times and two vets have told me it's just "a thing he does, there's nothing wrong" which I am inclined to believe as there are never any other symptoms. This behaviour also became much worse (howling at night) when we lost his companion and improved as he got used to the Corporal.

A while back I took him in to have him tested for crf and he was given a full, clean bill of health but one of the reasons I took him was because of foamy, stomach-acid sick  .

Anyway, all last night he was being really skittish and darting around the house. He didn't use the tray but has been going fine so I'm not worried about constipation. His pupils are huuuge and he's very very fussy. His ear temperature is normal and looks in perfect health.

There was a bit of foamy sick and a furball this morning but he's still acting really needy and rolling around purring really loudly. Could it be the heat? I am convinced I'm paranoid and don't want to have to take my cat to the vets for being "too lovely"!

LOL CS you remind me of me.  I am forever looking for things wrong.  If he is eating and seems happy then I would just watch him today and if still worried pop him in tomorrow.  One of my vets once said to me that they would rather have a hundred like me who rushes there at the first sign even if it's nothing, than one who ignores things until they become untreatable.  If you are really worried give your vet a ring.  Good luck and you are NOT being paranoid.

It is veeery much a case of the Zoomies. I think he just like the fuss he gets when we all run after him to see what's up!

Our youngest Gizmo has really been having cases of the Zoomies the past few days. It's got to be the heat.

The other cats seem fine, but he's a bit bonkers ;)
