Hi
I was just looking for a bit of advice on what to do with lucy our nearly 14 yrold cat
last night i noticed she wasnt holding her tail up, and this morning she wont either. she will let me touch it but if i put it in its normal position she cant hold it up. the most she can manage to do is hold it inline with her back.
I have read somewhere that it could be an absess, but would i be able to see the absess?
or is it just age related? shes still eating ok, dont know about bowl movments as she does those outside
will take her to vet if nessercarry, just didnt want to stress her out with hour and a half round car trip if i could avoid it
thanks
rachel

Sounds like an abscess to me. Some very overweight cats have trouble lifting their tail but if it happened suddenly, it probably isn't that.
-
a vet trip probably wouldn't hurt, if it is a an abscess they can get nasty
-
thanks for the replys......should i be able to see or feel an abscess though?
-
in my experience by the time you can feel them they're pretty nasty
