Title: If a cat comes from a CPL does it have to go back there?
Post by: JackSpratt on June 10, 2008, 11:36:26 AM
Just wondering. was looking on "the tree site" and there's a cat that came from the CPL needing a new home. Isn't there a condition regarding if circumstances change?

I just checked the form and it says 6 months - I don't think there should be a time limit on it personally  :(

The form does say 6 months but we always say to people that if their circumstances change and they need to rehome the cat please get in touch with us in the first instance. We have had a few where people have had to do this and the cats have come back to us to be rehomed. We would always encourage that to be the first thing they think of.

I know when you adopt a cat from FoalFarm the cat remains the property of FoalFarm.
You cant change the mirco-chip info either.

Here in Adel we always take the cat back into care if it came from us. In fact recently we have re-homed a 6 year old who was adopted from us when he was a kitten, because his meowmy has terminal cancer and wanted to prepare well in advance  :( We didn't have space for him so we advertised on our website and he's found a new home.

We don't set a time limit on ours and always tell people to come back to us if there's a problem!

On the Tree site - which area is it in?

I would imagine (but might be speculating) that they've contacted the branch and been tld they're full but can go on a waiting list to come into the branch, so the people have started to look at re-homing themselves?
