Just thought you'd like to know, I've been letting Bubz roam the house at night since I got home at the weekend and so far she's been ok.
She plays patta-cake with the flap for a while but eventually gives up and comes to bed. The current downside is I am having to sleep with my bedrom door open, but I'm going to get - guess what - a catflap - put into my bedroom door. Then I can have *my* door shut without having Bubz locked into my room at night!
Not sure what Bubz will make of it, but I'll have a good PA with me to teach her that she can come and go through that door at her leisure!

Great news Helen ;D
I'm sure everyone will be happier with the arrangement. Just wondering if you might be better with just a frame on the bedroom door one so she can come & go without disturbing you. I am in a different bedroom now but until recently, when I had the B&B running, our bedroom was in the lower ground floor near the back door and the flapping sound drove me up the wall

That's really good Helen

I'm really pleased you've found a solution Helen.

The flappless flap was put in on Saturday and everyone seems to be happy - I am at any rate :) though Bubz hasnt twigged that the shut door doesnt mean that she cant get out of the bedroom yet! I daresay that the first time her bladder/bowls wake her up it'll work!

so pleased to hear that you've managed to find a way that works for both you and Bubz.... also good to hear that you new PA is much better

These days, every time I hear the flap I wake up straight away with a shock - knowing in the back of my mind there might be a half dead pigeon or dismembered mouse on it's way into my bedroom dangling in kittys mouth.... !!!
