I took Azura to the vets today with what looked like a Haematoma. When the vet checked it, no fluid came out and just a dribble of blood so basically it appears to be just swollen. Anyway, she was given Metacam and now all under her chin has swollen up :'( I had to phone Sean and tell him that she'd been to the other surgery and what they'd given her and now he can't give her anything to relieve her symptoms. He said ideally she needs a steroid but because she's had Metacam, she can't :tired: I have to phone him later to let him know how she is and if the swelling gets any worse and affects her breathing or she gets stressed, she will have to go in and Sean said he'll have no choice but to give her a jab :owwww: I'm not sure what the hell is going on with her but it seems the swelling is something related to what's going on with her ear although Sean said it could be a reaction to the Metacam :'( Please keep your fingers crossed it's nothing serious, I'm really worried about her now and I just hope something can be done.
-
Love and positive vibes for Azura xxxx fingers and toes crossed its nothong serious xxx
  for you Dawn xxx
-
Sorry to hear about Azura. Sending positive thoughts that she is ok.
-
Well the swelling seems to have stopped and thankfully it isn't restricting her breathing. She's going in tomorrow for Sean to check her over if she remains okay in the night. He's a bit annoyed about the other vet lancing her ear, as he said it should have been done surgically and stitched because you are opening up a wound to more infection, I can understand this but by the same token, Azura is extremely underweight and the anaesthetic would be a major risk to her. Fingers crossed the swelling will subside overnight and we can find the cause of it.
-
Awww poor puss, hope she feels better soon.
xxx
-
Lots of good wishes for Azura
-
Well it looks like I'm going to be up all night :tired: Azura's chin has swelled even more now, I just wish I knew the cause of it :'(
-
She hasnt got any probs inside her mouth has she, or could she have been bitten?
-
Hope Azura is feeling better this morning and that you got at least some sleep last night DD
-
Me too
-
Dawn, hope Azura is better, fingers crossed for this poor little girl, she has be through so much already
-
Sadly I've had to have Azura pts :'( :'( I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, possibly a couple of hours as I was concerned about the swelling. I phoned the vets up this morning at 8.30 and arranged for Sean to see her at 10. When he saw her, he said he hadn't seen Oedema so bad in either a cat or a dog. He did some bloods on her and basically everything was all over the place especially her Liver enzymes :'( After a long chat and not knowing what to do, Sean suggested putting her on a drip and seeing if that helped but on further discussion, her results signified life threatening issues going on and he wasn't 100% convinced the Oedema was related to what was showing on her bloods. He said if it was unrelated, that was another issue to deal with so basically we may get her through what was going on now but then she still had issues. He could not give her a steroid injection because after getting the blood results, this was a definite no go because of Liver issues. In the end it was decided for her sake, not to put her through it but I knew we'd made the right decision as soon as he sedated her, her whole mouth, eyes and ears turned jaundiced straight away telling us that her Liver was well and truly knackered :'( :'(
:RIP: Sweet dreams Azura, you've made a big paw print on my heart and I won't forget you, xxxxxxxxxxx
-
omg Dawn I am gutted, poor baby Azura

Oh no Dawn I am so shocked. I am so so sorry what an awful thing. RIP sweet Azura hope your journey to the Bridge was peaceful. We will look after you mummy for you as best we can.
-
I'm so sorry to hear this, but it sounds like you definitely made the right decision and Azura can play now at the bridge without pain.
Sweet dreams little one.
-
So sorry for the loss of Azura seems like the Bridge got kids from us both today :(
Sending hugs from the sad Clan Cats to you and yours
-
Thanks everyone  Azura did go peacefully, she was sedated first and fell asleep in my arms. I know I made the right decision but it's still hard having to make it :'( I forgot to mention in my earlier post, she did have a lot of fluid round her heart as well so it was getting near her time. I just feel gutted for her, she was only a youngster and I just wish I'd have stepped in sooner but then again, Sean said the outcome would probably have still been the same :'(
So sorry for the loss of Azura seems like the Bridge got kids from us both today :(
So sorry Liz, sending you big
-
dawn I'm really sorry to hear about Azura.... play hard at the bridge little one... you deserve some happiness.
you did everything you could for her Dawn

-
I can't tell you how awful I feel for you about this Dawn, I have her picture on the fridge at home, she was a little babe
Thanks hun   Sadly, her time on earth just wasn't meant to be but Sean did say this morning, if I hadn't have had her, she would have suffered so at least this way she went peacefully, has had good food for a month, a warm bed and loads of fusses. It would be great to be able to wave a magic wand and make them all better but in reality, all we can do is to do our best. I know Sean gives me grief for getting involved with these cats, but I can honestly say this morning, I really think he could understand in Azura's case why I couldn't turn my back on her.
-
I hope to god this person gives up I really do, the amount of misery - well I don't need to tell you  to you and the gang
-
Something will have to be sorted out. All the hassle of it all just makes me ill, I've had a banging head for 3 days and was as sick as a dog this morning, and I really need to get some kip :tired: The good thing is, Amelia seems to be doing well and although she has an eye problem which apparently she has always had, she seems to be in pretty good health generally. She will now obviously be going in for bloods just in case but I'm a bit more confidant about her outcome.
-
I'll keep in touch with you, you know where I am, try and get some sleep hun
-
So very sorry Dawn xxx
RIP sweet Azura xxx

-
I am so sorry Dawn but you did everything that you could
RIP Azura play hard on the Bridge with our friends
-
try adn get some rest hun. Let us know how things go with Amelia but please don't make yourself ill over this woman. I know its easier said than done... but she really isn't worth it.
Hope Sean didn't give you too hard a time, but as you say, hopefully he could understand why you couldn't walk away.
In all honesty, you would have thought someone would have reported her by now to GCCF or someone??? would Sean not do it???
-
Legal action should be taken out on that princess of a human.
-
RIP Azura. :(
I am really sorry.
-
Today got worse, I had to take my epileptic one in this afternoon :'( She damaged her eye whilst having a fit and although on treatment for it, it got worse. She hasn't been in good health for a while now and as well as being epileptic, she was also brain damaged and had stopped looking after herself. She has now also gone to the bridge :'( :'(
Hope Sean didn't give you too hard a time, but as you say, hopefully he could understand why you couldn't walk away.
In all honesty, you would have thought someone would have reported her by now to GCCF or someone??? would Sean not do it???
Sean was great about it but I have agreed no more are coming from there. I also have Becky to worry about and all I do is open myself up to heartache. Sean was under the impression she was stopping breeding but she had more kittens in last week for their vaccs so it seems no matter what I do to help, she's going to carry on. Azura is the second one in a couple of weeks to have gone to the bridge and these are all cats where it could have been preventable.
-
so sorry another one has gone to the bridge....what was her name? RIP Midge (Moo)
-
Oh Dawn, big
If you want to PM me the breeders details I could speak to our Bengal breeder to see if she has heard of her and get some advice as to what could be done to stop her.
Take care Hun, thinking of you x
-

Her real name was Midge but we often called her Moo because of her markings :'(

Thanks Sheryl, I'll do that. When I was back in with Moo this afternoon, one of the girls came through and said the breeder had phoned for me not long after I left in the morning, she was obviously wondering what had gone on with Azura. The stupid thing is she seems to care on one hand but if she genuinely did, why does she allow them to go through this time and time again. When I was discussing it with Sean, he was saying the same that it's not just the lot she's got, but how many more are out there that are going through the same thing because of this woman >:( No one has a decent thing to say about her but I have tried my best to help get her cats sorted, a lot have been spayed now but it's not going to end.
-
:RIP: little ones :'(
very very sad :'(
-
I am so sorry Dawn. What an awful time you are having. RIP Midge Moo
-
Oh Dawn my heart goes out to you, my dear....
RIP Azura and Midge....you will be missed, play in the sunshine on the bridge sweeties x
-
RIP Azura and Midge.
I can't understand how this breeder can live with herself knowing that cats have died because of her.
-
keep me in the loop about Amelia, she still has a home with me if she is strong enough for the journey - if you would like action taken against this person I am happy to do it, let me know what you think.
Sorry to hear about poor Midge, you are really having a :censored: time at the moment
-
How sad.... :(
RIP Azura....xxxx
>DD
-
Oh Dawn, you really are having a crap time of it at the moment aren't you hun
I will be home from about 3pm if you want a chat.
RIP little Midge/Moo, have fun at the Bridge baby, no more nasty times for you now. :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
RIP Azura and Midge.
I can't understand how this breeder can live with herself knowing that cats have died because of her.
She justifies it because she assumes all breeders have the same problems and the fact she's getting her "problem" cats spayed, she thinks this is eliminating the problems. What I cannot get through or what she fails to accept is if she is going to breed, all cats should be blood tested before she mates them with another. She agrees with this when I tell her but then I find she has more kittens and again mum hasn't been tested >:( I have had this argument til I'm blue in the face with her, she has no right creating life which is most definitely going to have to be cut short because of idiocy. She waits until the problems arise before actually doing anything, by then it's too late for most :'(
-
RIP Little ones x
If she is breeding peds surely the insurance would see this as a claim against the breeder? Especially when she knows she is breeding cats with serious health problems?
-
So sorry to hear about Azura. Now at peace little one
-
oh Dawn,
I am so so sorry to hear about Midge..... you really are having such a hard time at the mo. I know that cutting ties with this so called 'breeder' is the best thing for you but I also know its going to tug at your heart strings thinking of all the cats she has. You have to make the choice of what is right for you though hun, it is time that someone else stepped in to stop what she is doing and in all honesty I can't see why Sean can't do the reporting as really (in my eyes) he should rather than just ignore the problem and not let others help.
There has to come a point where some form of official body has to step in... and if it is not now... then by god when would it be??
No matter how much this woman appears to care, she clearly doesn't or she wouldn't be breeding with what she has there. Money is a great incentive and to me, it is what comes first with this woman not the cats. She must be made to be accountable for what she has done and is doing so perhaps it is time to pass it to someone else hun who can carry that through??? you have enough on your plate already and need a rest.
-

I think the only way is through the GCCF, Sean's answer to it was the RSPCA but in all honesty, I really can't see them doing anything. Her cats are all fed and watered and the pens have adequate shelter etc so they are classed as being looked after. I'll sort the details out for Sheryl and she can look into for me.

Thanks Dawn  I'll try and get her booked in with Sean this week and I'll get bloods done on her, I'm a little concerned as to what her Liver levels will be at but only because of Azura and Becky, hopefully she should be ok but I'll let you know
-
Dawn - Please let me have the details of this "breeder" I have got people who really want to help.
-
I've sent you the details Sheryl and also sent you my phone number

One of the pics you have posted shows an emaciated animal and thats after you had her for a month
If they could ignore that they really are blind!
-
I know that but I also know how they work :tired: Her reason for the skinniest would have been because she'd had tummy problems so she would get away with it that way anyway. She also had bloods done on her so another reason why they would think she was doing what could be done for her medically. It will be sorted anyway so hopefully the heartache for these poor cats will be coming to an end
-
fingers crossed Dawn. about time it did.
-
I'm so sorry this "breeder" is still giving you so much heartache, Dawn.
RIP Azura.
-
RIP Azura :RIP: So sorry, Dawn
-
Hey Dawn, just caught up with this thread after being AWOL for a while.
I'm so sorry to hear about Azura and Midge
I really hope Sheryl's contacts can provide some help with stopping this breeder, I cannot believe that she is still carrying on - well, actually, I sort of can from what I have heard about her before, but still, its horrifying.
Best wishes for Becky and Amelia, and you yourself DD, you are an angel for kitties xxxx
-
Amelia is getting more loving by the day, I think she realises now that cuddles are better than running away :Luv: Lainey sent me some homeopathic stuff the other day which helps in a number of ailments. I'm not sure how to use it so will be giving her a bell later to get her advice and hopefully I can put it to good use. I have a good feeling about Amelia though, and I'm sure she'll be fine :) I'll have to take some more piccies of her, hopefully she'll be a bit more cooperative this time ;)
-
glad she is coming on Dawn, how is her tummy getting on
-
Still iffy but at least I can have a chat to Sean about her now without the fear of having a :censored: off him :evillaugh: When she goes in for bloods, I'll take the stuff Lainey sent me and let him have a look, he's quite open to alternative treatments so I'll see what he says. I've still got her on the Slippery Elm which seems to help, and I'm sure once she learns to relax properly I'll see a big difference in her. She's had a few traumatic months one way or another and now with losing Azura, this is bound to unsettle her again, fingers crossed she'll be fine
-
Have PMd you DD
-
how's amelia doing Dawn?
-
Have PMd you DD
Thanks Sheryl, I'll speak to you over the weekend
how's amelia doing Dawn?
Amelia seems to be coming on and is finally letting me fuss her without her running off :Luv: :Luv: She is such a little sweetheart bless her and I pray that she'll be okay healthwise. I've got her going in next week for bloods now as Becky needs to go in as well but as usual, she's been a little snuffly :tired: If I get chance over the weekend, I'll take some more piccies of her
-
great news Dawn! :)
give her an extra fuss from all of us here! ;)
