Hey!
Katie has had the same litter tray since I got her 2 years ago and it's started to smell even when i've washed it thoroughly and so a new one is in order methinks!
I want another convered one and something that is robust with a deep tray, but trying save pennies as well - does anyone have any recommendations of ones which are good? Her last tray I got from a friend who's cat never used it and I think it's a Ferplast one which i've found good.
Thanks!!!

I cannot recommend the hi back Petmate trays highly enough! They're heavy duty, with easily removable lids and come in a range of colours including pink. Amazon sells the light blue base model and the pink one. Prices range from £12.99 ( for the pink, may have to shop around) to £27.00 (this is the most expensive i've seen). I bought my light blue model from the online pet store;

hope that helps ;)

What id like to find is a hooded tray that you can buy spare bases for (without buying the lid!) and doesnt look like a cat carrier to a cat who has a vivid imagination.

Dream on MM :evillaugh:
Clapton scarpers every time I pick up his tray for cleaning :evillaugh:

 at Millysmum - I know what you mean!
I'll have a look at these - thanks! A pink litter tray would just be like the best thing in the world, but perhaps I have to be practical!

I have the deluxe hooded one from Pets At Home

It goes down nicely here.

None of my cats or foster cats had problems with these. And they love when I take the tops off when it's time to clean the boxes... it's a whole game of trying to get into the top and pounce then attack the scoop... jump into the bag with the dirty litter in it....
It's amazing I ever get to actually clean the boxes!

They are the ones I have - I got another at the weekend. One of ours is 3 years old and still perfect. I don't see the point of the ones with flaps as the cats don't like them and if they hold smells, the cats won't like going in them. I just try to do a litter patrol often :evillaugh:

I would agree with the Pets at Home recomendations - thats what I have had for over three years now although I have to say the lid came off about a year in and now I just use the base along with the massive rimmed ones also from Pets at Home.
My wee man occasionally did a poop outside his tray and after he was checked out the only solution we thought of - which worked - was taking the lid off the tray. No problems after that.
I find that with the right litter (classy cat from zooplus) the smell is just the same as when the lid was on.

If you want a pink hooded one then here it is

Well, if you're going to have a litter tray, you might as well have a pink one! The lady on the phone was lovely and i'll report back what it's like when it arrives xxx
