A vet has just rung me to asked if I could help with a very heavenly pregnant cat whose owner has no money. Apparently a week last Sunday her boobs were up and leaking milk. Only today the owner has taken her to the vets. Now she has severe mastitis and lumps under her front legs the size of tennis balls. I offered to pay if the cat was signed over to us. Apparently now the little one needs major surgery which could well cost us hundreds & will possibly lose both mammary strips, also the outcome for the kittens is not known until later today.

poor thing, my Star ended up in the care of the rscpa in a similar way, babies stuck inside and needing a c section , once she had them, they said they didn't want her back - makes me very angry
-
I don't know what is wrong with people. Some of them should have been drowned at birth >:(
-
its just so irritating that these same people could have stopped them getting pregnant so easily in the first place - I'm sure the trauma that Star suffered in the couple of days before she was taken in and then after getting mastitis etc are part of the reason she is a bit unpredictable

Hope the poor little mum will be OK and the kittens, People make me so angry to let a poor little mite get like that bad when you can get help with spaying, Ela i know you will do your best for her if i can help a bit i will send a donation towards it and i am shore there are more on the site that would help out no matter how small the donation please keep us updated Ron.

Thank you so much for your offer Ron but you do so much for the little ones that you rescue I could not possibly accept your generosity. Mum has had an op but needs to stay in at the vets for a few days. There were 4 kittens, unfortunately as they were born they needed to be gently PTS as the vets said it was not viable to keep them. Now I know our vets and if there was the slightest chance of a quality life that would not have happened.

I will try to get some pics, however, it may be some time as the fosterer will care for her when he is allowed from the vets, tends to keep me waiting a little for pics.

-
My gosh, I have never seen anything like that before, poor, poor Dolly.
-
Dolly is still in hospital, so it just shows how bad it was, when she is allowed out a vet nurse is going to foster her for us.
Mind you her husband went to visit Dolly at the weekend so if she gets on with the resident cats you never know she may have found a home.
-
omg... it brings a tear to your eye to think how she must've been feeling for asll that time. give little dolly a big big hug and kisses from us
-
Poor Dolly and I do hope they give her a forever home
-
Aww, I am glad she has a foster/forever home lined up, I hope she pulls through.
