A cat purring beside you in bed.
I could go to bed with my head full of all sorts, then Macey will jump up and snuggle down with me, she even puts her head on my pillow and a paw on my face. When I start stroking her and hear the deep purrs I feel instantly relaxed and soon drift off. What a good way to get to sleep.

I love the sound of Jaffa purring beside me on the bed at night (and snoring!). He's a right little purrer and it doesn't take much to set him off.

I feel deprived, having previously had four cats who purred for England, I am now stuck!! with a cat who never purrs. Oh well, still love him though

Willow is a purrball when no other cats are around. As for relaxing, I don't find it very comfortable lying in bed with a cat on my chest

Fredcat loves to sleep woith my mum and purrs all night. On the occasions when beavis has been allowed in the bedroom at night he sits next to your head and meows for all his worth!!! :tired:
-
Mine aren't allowed in bedrooms (except their own) but I love it when they curl up on my lap when I'm on the computer and purr at me :) I love the way they each have their own distinctive purr as well.
-
Max loves to curl up for a cuddle at bedtime too, I love it :Luv:

i have 3 of them sleeping on the bed at teh moment (Molly is allowing Rolo on teh bed!!), and it can be a nightmare trying to find a comfy spot.

Many a night I wake up with Bonnie purring in my ear because I've been rubbing her tummy in my sleep!! She's even got me trained to pamper her when I'm not awake.
We are a lot of softies aren't we? They pay us back by singing to us. :Luv2:

It is the best indeed! :Luv:
However, I woke up at 2am this morning, with Jameson on my chest, purring like a tractor. Only problem was, he'd been out and was soaking wet! I had to get up and towel him off, then change the sheets.
Jameson is a little :censored: when it comes to sleeping in our bed. First of all, he'd rather sleep on OH's side, and will give dirty looks and claws when OH tries to get under the cover. When he finally moves, Jameson will lie on top of my legs/or in between, so I can't move all night. I have woken up many a times with an angry cat attached to my bare leg due to me accidentally squashing him.
When OH isn't at home though, Jameson happily sleeps on his pillow next to me, and I love waking up with a paw in my face, and 2 excitable lil eyes peeking at me in the morning... :Luv2:

Purrs are definitely one of the most relaxing sensations in the world! That, and the sound of rain! I love falling asleep with one or more gentle purrs singing me off! If there's rain at the window - all the better!

Especially if that was Kylie I imagine... :)
In my case it does have an extremely soothing, therapeudic effect on me as well...
