Title: Microchip catflap?
Post by: Zenith (Liz) on May 22, 2008, 15:02:58 PM
I'm staying at my parents for a long bank holiday weekend and as I got home yesterday mum was in a flap because two of the neighbourhood cats had just been in the frontroom attacking our cat Blue, while mum was a foot away!

We've had numerous catflaps here but they've all been broken by the neighbourhood cats so i'm off out this afternoon to go buy the portepet microshipo catflap.

Has anyone used one before?   Are they reliable? I know they're expensive but hopefully it will help!

Can you buy them in shops now?

I think they a petporte. I have only heard good things about them. £100 well spent if it works.

This is really odd but I had the same idea about 6 years ago - wouldn't have had a clue how to make it work but I really did have the same idea. OH says I am a fool for not doing something about it - maybe it already existed then?

I see they were recommended in CP magazine http://www.microchipcatflaps.co.uk/?gclid=CKqK5Lq7upMCFQyvQwodDHdMCw#checkchip

That's spooky - I had the same idea a few years ago but, as you, had no idea how to make one work etc.  We could have been millionaires Mark. :innocent:

Belated good luck Mark!

Oh I didnt manage to get it yesterday as I fell over and busted my legs up  :shy:

Have had to take madame to the vet this morning because her cheek looked a little puffy and after being attacked I thought i'd best be safe - £79 poorer now but at least she's ok

bought a petporte by emailing Milly on bestcatflaps@aol.com - she sent it and I got it 2 days after paying by Paypal.  It only cost £89.99 - usually they are over £120 and more.

I had a black one as have a black front door.  She has black, white & brown.

Its a fantastic product and keeps the local smelly tom from terrorising my cats - they were scared and started to spray themselves in the house - this Petporte has stopped all that!! Its great!

Email her, even for advice and to see if she thinks it can help your situation.     :naughty: :wow: :wow:
