Title: Alice in the garden today
Post by: Mark on May 20, 2008, 23:03:55 PM
I expected Kylie to beat her up but she asserted herself and Kylie pretended to ignore her - although was looking out the corner of her eye  :evillaugh:

This is the first time she had been out since December  :Luv2:

3rd pic = eating grass = blood in poo tomorrow  :scared:

That was her eating grass for the 1st time in months  :Luv2:

I really bit the bullet as I have to get her away from her comfort zone. if/when I go back to work, I won't have the time to spend with her so she will have to get used to the others.

She is a bit wobbly on her old pins  :Luv2:

Kylie was so jealous - she was rolling on her back to get my attention. Clapton was curled up sunbathing. Alice went right up to him and spat at him  :( - he ignored her and curled up even more  :evillaugh:

We really are getting the garden landscaped "soon" and don't have a lawnmower so it will just have to stay as it is for now. The cats prefer it that way anyway  :evillaugh:

I think letting Alice out and letting her do her own thing is a good way forward... Eventually she will find her place and hopefully be ignored by your other cats, and then you want feel so bad leaving her for so long.. A good start.. i doubt Alice will go far and she certaintly isnt going to jump over 6ft high fences.. One thing, make sure that chipping details is up to date Mark!!

Oh Mark - you've been great with that camera - I love 816 and 819 - just want to cuddle and cuddle.  809 reminds me of my Smudge - see attached pic.

Sadly, so do all the horrible creepy crawlies that hitch a lift on them....I was trying to use that excuse with our lawn too!  ;)

Kylie looks really big. How old is Alice? She has lovely markings.

Very pretty torti  :Luv:
It must be the angle in the outdoor pics that make alice look like shes doubled in size! The indoor ones she looks a normal weight in.

I must find that form  :shy:

She was only out for around 15 minutes today before she decided to go back up to her room. Like yesterday, she was really purry and contented afterwards. Surprisingly, I didn't realise until after she went upstairs that Kylie was there the whole time but didn't even bother coming to investigate   :)

I think Sharon said they estimated her age as 8 - 10 years old. She could be even older going by how worn her teeth are.

She has a distended belly which they never managed to find out what was causing it, despite all kinds of tests. She always looks thin when lying down but pregnant when standing up  :evillaugh:

She is very light  :Luv2:

You would lose at least one eye as Kylies belly is "look but don't touch"  :evillaugh:

Looks like they are learning to "ignore" each other, well at least Kylie (Alice doesn't look very much like so in that "panther slinking past" shot..), that is a first step for peaceful coexistence, clearly a good sign!!  Glad she enjoyed the outdoor, hope she will take up more courage as the weather continue to get nicer! ;-)

The slinking pic was seconds after they met - hopefully they can ignore eachother in peace  :evillaugh:

I was supposed to be fostering Alice for a couple of weeks in December  :-:

I took her to the vet to check on her healing "Absess" and was taking her to show her to someone that wanted to adopt. It turned out it was a tumour so she was kept in for the op. Afterwards, we knew she couldn't go back to an outdoor pen so I agreed to foster short term - the rest as they say is history  :Luv2:

Little milestone.

After her being in the garden 2 afternoons and eating grass, I was worried about her bleeding.
Glad to report I removed poo with grass in from her tray yesterday and no blood   ;D
