Came home from work today and Felix has made the hard decision for me and gone to Rainbow Bridge himself. Can't type much through tears but just wanted to tell everyone..I'm gutted, so gutted.. its so hard, even when yiou know its going to happen...He was my friend through everything and I will miss him terribly..
We're going to bury him later in the garden, can't bear to watch...this is so painful..
Will post more when I feel up to it..

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's heartbreaking when one of our furbabies dies. There are many of us on here that know what you are going through. Please take comfort from knowing he was loved, and people are here for you if you need to chat.

Oh Gail so very very sorry to hear that Felix has passed over to the Bridge.
My heart goes out to you hun. Take comfort from the fact that Felix was able to end his days quietly at home when he was ready to go. No nasty trips to the vet, no stress and no discomfort.
We are all here for you when you want us.
RIP Felix ... moved loved friend and companion to your Mum. Play hard at the bridge old boy.

So sorry to hear about Felix, :hug: like Sarah says most of us understand how you are feeling and what you are going through.
Try and take some comfort in that he was at home, safe and warm and went peacefully to the Bridge where all our Bridge babes will be waiting to welcome him.

I know you must ne very upset, but try to take comfort in the fact that Felix died peacefully in his own house, surrounded by familiar objects and scents...

Hi Everyone, Thank you SO SO much for all of your lovely messages. It is so kind of you all and I have found a lot of comfort in them. I guess this feeling is the price we pay for having our furbabies....I'm at work today, on my own and am ok for a while until I stop to think...
Luckily it was my OH who got in from work before me yesterday and found Felix. He was 'asleep' on his usual spot on the stairs and it looked lke he'd just drifted away...He was buried in my back garden last night, wrapped in a piece of my old dressing gown that he used to prod.
I will miss him so much, I know he has gone the best way possible and that he decided to take the 'big' decision out of my hands which I am relived at as I was dreading it. He was nearly 16 and I had had him from a tiny kitten when he was found by a rescue in a carrier bag in a hedge along with his siblings who sadly did not survive.
He has been through numerous house moves, disastrous relationships, a divorce and the additions of a staffordshire bull terrier and two other cats, and has taken it all in his stride - the model kitty.
Felix was, and still is my best friend, and I know that he will be waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge when I get there one day..
..here come the tears again, sorry to post such a waffling mess but I just needed to talk..xxxx

He'll be looking down from the Bridge right now chuffed to bits that he had such a loving mum for all these years, and he won't want you to be sad, but to remember all the great times you've shared xx

I'm so sorry for your loss. This was given to me when I had Blue cremated, as I typing this I have tears in my eyes, our baby's have gone but will never be forgotton
