Title: I`ve been given a second chance
Post by: Teresa Pawcats on May 11, 2008, 10:47:18 AM
Milly a 2 year old feral was allowing me to stroke her until that awful day I was rushed to hospital. When I saw her 2 weeks later she hissed and lashed out drawing blood.I was so upset and as the weeks have gone by I felt she had made the choice never to trust me again and was always going to be a feral.
This last week its almost as if she sensed something has been worrying me and each time I have sat with her she has purred,a couple of days ago she jumped out of her Pen and headbutted my knee before backing off, yesterday she allowed me to gently stroke her; this morning as I was bent down cleaning out her Pen she waved in and out between my legs and encouraged me to stroke her,she was purring for all she was worth and chirupping too, this little girl has made me so very happy and given me a lift when I needed it most; certainly its a second chance I didnt think possible.

I am so pleased for you, I know the feeling when something like this happens and it  usually brings a tear to the eyes.

Milly was just punishing you for going away without her prior agreement. They do that!  :tired: When they figure you've been punished enough, they forgive you.  :evillaugh:

I'm so glad its bought a smile to your face, T.

Milly has forgiven me and loves me , she really does.As long as no one is around to see she leaves the safety of her pen(where she hides under her bed) and comes out to play.
1st pic not a good one shows her rubbing around my legs
2nd pic we play our version of cat tennis
3rd Whats next game
4th wormy game.

We are not usually untidy and mucky as shown in pics but these were taken in the middle of mucking out when the lovely Milly decided that play was more important than cleanliness.

This has turned out so well, T.  I can see why you're well chuffed!  :)   She looks very relaxed in those photos, and for her to play with you, she really does trust you.

This morning I took a huge chance and opened the outside door while playing with her,I  told her she could go into the garden, she declined, took a good look at freedom and came and wrapped herself around my legs.
Milly is one of those little cats that you take in and think "what on earth am I going to do with you" well before you know it this type of cat digs their claws deep into the heart strings. Note to self I am getting soft in my old age
