Title: Tarka going to the Vet for the last time

For all those of you who have followed the trials and tribulations of Tarka, my runny bum kitty, unfortunately despite a small recovery when he was first put on slippery elm, he has never been a fit kitty and recently his runs have been worse than ever.

It is one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, having raised him from when he was one day old, but his quality of life is crap, having to spend most of his time in a pen, always being dirty which I know he hates and watching everyone else lead a normal life, so I am taking him to the Vet this evening for the last time. :'(

I know I will be an utter mess when I get there, but I am determined to stay with him until the end, he deserves that at least and I want him to know I loved him from the very start to the very finish and he is a very, very, very special boy.

I'm so sorry hun, I know you won't be taking this decision lightly.

If darling Tarka has no quality of life, and his tummy is worse again, then I feel you are doing the right thing for him  :hug: :hug:

Oh Lesley my heart goes out to you.  This must be one of the hardest decision you have had to make  :hug: and I am sure you have gone over and over it.

We all know how hard you have tried with Tarka but if his quality of life is suffering then this is the kindest you can do for him.

Oh no Lesley, i didnt realise that little Tarka had got worse again, what a heartbreaking decision for you but he knows how much you love him.  No one could have tried harder than you have to help him  :hug:

So sorry it has come to this but you have gone more than the extra mile for that special little soul

I hope he passes peacefully to the Bridge and will be the fit young boy he should have been

Am please to have followed his short but full life here at Purrs and he will be missed by all of us but especially you as you are and always will be his Mum :hug:

Aww, I am so sorry things haven't worked out for him Lesley, but at least you have tried everything for him, and he has known lots of love and affection in his short life. RIP little one.

Thank you for all your kind words.  Tarka passed peacefully to the Bridge at about 6.30 this evening.  Typically, today he had a dry day but I could not put the inevitable off forever and his quality of life rather than quantity of it had to be the most important thing.  I will miss my little boy so dreadfully and can't bring myself to clean his pen out today.

RIP my precious little boy, have fun with all the kitties on the Bridge, you can play freely with everyone now. :Luv2:
