Archie came in on Friday with a small wound by his eye. I bathed it in salty water which helped and it started to heal.
He then came in this morning after a brief outing with another wound by his whiskers and Fridays wound opened up again. He may be going in a bush after birds.
I have just bathed it again in salty water and it does not look infected.
I was wondering if there was anything else I could use and at what point should I consider a vets visit.
Thanks

teresa recommended hibsiscrub to me when tilly grazed her chin, not sure how safe it is near eyes though

Thank you Dawn

Other than that salted water should do the trick.
Come on Archie , behave please ;D

 to Archie. Nothing to add really Alison. I'm sure you'll know when a vet visit is required. Any chance of grounding him for a bit to let it heal?
-
Gill good idea I am going to lock the flap :shify:

For little cuts I use Otodex skin cream it's like germolene for furries.
How's the little mite doing today :Luv:
-
Thanks Den I will get some of that ;D
The wounds seem better today. I had a good look round last night and realised he spends alot of time by a prickly bush that is by the garage mouse hunting. I cut it back so hope that helps.
Also alarmingly I found a very sharp nail/tac in his catflap. I really do not know where this came from as we do not use that type. Hope its a one off :scared:

Hope Archies better soon
I always have Betadine in but like the poster before I don't know how safe it is to use around eyes.
Get better soon Mr Archie :Luv2:

Thank you Gwen will get some in. I think I need to set up a medicine box for Archie as a precaution.

but to be honest Alison you can't beat what your already doing, salt water is THE BEST thing my vet said, even better than pet antiseptics :)

Could he have caught himself on that tack and now its gone maybe he will stop hurting himself

Thats what I think Gill
