Title: RIP Molly - Poor little black and white cat
Post by: Cheesecat on April 17, 2008, 12:19:34 PM
I feel the need to post a thread for this baby who was lost to the road this morning.

Phil text me when he got to work to say that he was late and in pieces because he saw a black and white cat get hit by a Lexus (which didn't even stop  :mad2: )

Phil pulled over and took the poor baby out of the road, he said she had already passed away by the time he got to her so at least she was taken quickly and did not suffer.

I feel upset typing this so god knows how he feels today.

Sleep tight poor kitty. You didn't deserve this  :'(

I really hope that driver gets what he/she deserves!  >:(

Hey, thanks for the post hun

Im still pretty upset,im almost in tears at my desk writing this.

I put poor kitty next to a tree on a patch of grass to one side of the road, but i feel like i should give kitty a proper burial, what should i do? there are some forest kind of areas near the road that kitty could rest forever in?

Im going to call around afew houses on my way home to see if the cat is known to anyone,id hate to think the owners are wondering where their kitty is when i could tell them.

The driver did stop but later got into her car and drove away after talking with a couple i saw comforting the cat, they later left the cat as i got out my car,the poor woman of the couple was in tears.

I have no credit on my phone otherwise i would of called rspca or stockport rescue to come collect cat atleast.

Will let you know if i find kitties owners....

The little cat maybe chipped, would it be possible to get a vet to scan it for you?

I think if you cant find an owner then a little burial somewhere safe would be a nice thing to do

I will text Phil about the chip Gill as he will be back at work after lunch now (he doesnt normally get on purrs during day like me) so he can maybe go to our local vets with the cat if he has no luck knocking on doors.

We will bury kitty in our garden if there is no luck. We have some lovely big trees in our garden she can rest under.

Poor little mite, at least she didn't suffer.  :(

It should be the car owner's responsibility to deal with the outcome of this, since they're the one responsible whether it was an accident or not and they shouldn't expect someone else to shoulder the burden by just driving off.  >:(

You wonder if the driver even thought about that poor babe today at all?  :(

Found the owners  :(

I walked up and down the stretch of road i found kitty on and was pointed in the direction of this winding cul-de-sac i thought id reached the end when one house i was pointed to said their black and white cat was in the house asleep.

Disheartened i walked away and decided to take one last walk to the top of the cul-de-sac where i also had no luck up,
ready to give up and collect the poor kitty to take up i saw a woman and her daughter getting out of a car, just by chance i asked them 'do you have a black and white cat?...'
which the young lady finished my sentence '...with a blue collar? yeah' and my heart sank!
I could barely get the words out,i couldnt help but start to cry as i told them and the young girl was getting upset aswel, the mum thanked me for finding them and putting their kitty under the tree.

They said they will collect her from under the tree and thanked me again for finding them and i walked away in floods of tears!  :'(

I said goodbye to the kittybabe one last time and came home

Im glad ive found the owners but my god it was heart breaking to tell someone something like that  :'(

Poor kittie, well done for doing your best.
At least you put yourself out and found the owner so they know what happened to their furrie, its always worse not knowing.

Thanks clare

I felt like i had to,i was so angry at the driver and so upset about poor kitty that i just had to find the owners!  :'(

Im taking them a sympathy card on my way home tonight,if their in im going to try to say all the things i wanted to say yday but was too choked up to get the words out.

I do feel better today knowing kitty has been taken home to rest and i feel better in myself knowing kitty came from a loving family who will dearly miss their cat rather than an abusive family.....somehow i think its better that way....that kitty had a life filled with love and affection.

Well done for helping the owners of this cat

 :RIP:  pussy

I had a similar experience yesterday myself, although it has to be said that it was a very busy road and plenty of cars stopped to ask if they could help.

Hello,

This is a little update,

On friday i took mollys owners a sympathy card and noticed they were in,i knocked on door to give them the card in person and they invited me in.

Really really lovely people with two black and white kittens running all over them! hehe those kittens mum was upstairs asleep in the wardrob apprantly but kittens made huge fuss of me one of them sitting on my lap and falling straight asleep as soon as i sat down!

I finally got to say all the things i wanted to say on thursday, they thanked me finding them and we talked all things cat for almost an hour! We ended up having quite a giggle at the things cats get up to  :Luv:

They told me molly is now at rest under a tree in their garden next to two other rainbow bridge furbabes who passed on quite afew years ago.

They had only had molly since nov 07,she was a rescue kitty! As are the mum and two kittens  :Luv:

I told them ALLLLL about our quad of furbags and how me and dawn coped loosing lucas.

As it happens one of the ladies who lives there works near me and the other lady is an IT trainer for the NHS  so maybe in some strange way i was ment to have found them! what do ya think? lol

Anyway i came away from there feeling much better in myself and so glad that i know molly came from a loving cat mad house.

RIP Molly i know you'll be sorely missed

X
