got a lovely little calendar for Xmas which you are suppose to stick onto your fridge (it has magnets on the back) .... I however have it on the filing cabinet at work!!  Anyway each day has a a lovely pic of a kitty and some days have quotes.  So far we have had:

a cat improves the garden wall in sunshine, and the hearth in foul weather -   Judith Merkle Riley

and

Cate are the only creatures on four legs who have perfected the art of training human beings.  They can get you to the stage where you leap out of a warm bed at 4:30 am because you hear a neow outside the front door. - Pat Ingoldsby

I have a fridge magnet but don't know who said this:

"cats are really the ones who own the house, they just let us pretend we do to make us feel human!

I've always loved this one by Twain, (had to Google for exact wording)

A home without a cat--and a well-fed, well-petted and properly revered cat--may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove its title?

Love that last one, I have a fridge magnet which says

"If you want the best seat in the house you'll have to move the cat"

I think we can all relate to that one

If you hold a cat by the tail you learn things you cannot learn any other way. Mark Twain
What a picture that portrays
