Late last night we heard a cat calling and at 4am the calling began again. Went out at 6am to do mucking out not a sound to be heard. There are only 2 unspayed females here, one is Poppy who is nursing her 3week old kittens, the other is Pippa who i think is pregnant already though not certain yet. Each time we went into the house the calling began again and then stopped when we crept out to investigate. I had started to worry that someone had dumped a female cat here and she was hiding. Was just out in the Pens having a little cat and kitten cuddling session and the calling began again, I crept outside just intime to see one of our ferals Hettie getting ready to hide; Dont quite know how she managed but she had taken herself into an outdoor Pen and been locked in overnight. As soon as I let her out she bolted to her feeding station in the greenhouse, now I am wondering which cat I saw eating that I took to be Hettie this morning.

for a second there I really had fingers crossed that it was Pippa! Still hopeful ;D
-
Dawn shes had a real good empty out and tummy still looks and feels suspicious, I`d love to be wrong.
-
So it is a stray who is calling?
-
No Christine, it was poor Hettie the feral who was locked up overnight for the first time in over 11 years
-
Aww, poor Hettie. I had hoped it was Pippa too.
-
Oh T what a sight Hettie must have been. Bet she gave you the evils after that.
Was hoping it wasPippa too, a blessing if it had been.
-
Apparently Rob locked the door to stop the wind blowing it, Hettie must have been asleep in the little house at the time.
-
Poor Hettie , I hope she forgives you soon ;D
-
Bless Hettie she's a sweetheart :Luv2:
I'm sure she will forgive you soon ................ well ................ maybe :evillaugh:
-
Hettie has moved herself into the Pen and the door has been firmly wedged open, guess I`m forgiven
-
Thats a relief, can you ask her to post now and tell Sasa to forgive me for trapping her for stronghold application. ;D

Pav we are allowed to within a foot of her but not allowed to touch,we have told her she is welcome to come in the house but she has chosen not to give us her trust entirely, her moving into the Pen is a huge step forward as its much nearer the house.Think sometimes we have to respect that a cat chooses to make their own ground rules.
-
But ferals do talk and know about it
Hettie sounds like a slightly more extreme version of Sasa, I cant get to a foot right now , and she sees me and rushes outside grrrrrrrrrrr.
I am pleased Hettie as moved one step closer ;D

Thanks Teresa, i asked cos i wanted to see if there is hope for MR TRAMP? Lately when ever he comes he wont let me get close at all! I wonder if some one has done anything to upset him, he behave as he doesnt know me? I wonder if Hettie being close to humans every day is any different? :thanks:

I think we have to be patient and let our little ones come to us when they are ready
