Blip is certainly depressed by the snow but I am a bit concerned about her.
Yesterday, she didnt agitate for her usual late evening snack (at 22.00) and this morning she didnt wake us up to serve her breakfast. She did eat her breakfast when we served it for her at 09.00, but she normally asks for it earlier.
Today, she has asked for her tuna lunch and one instalment of her supper (I serve her supper in three instalments) but she is now sleeping and hasnt asked for any more of her evening meal.
She didnt go out yesterday but has been out twice today, briefly. She has been mostly sleeping.
Nothing unusual for a cat who will be ten in the summer, but just not like Blip, who adores her food. She seems glossy and lively enough. She is very sensitive to the weather, being a house-and-garden cat.
Should I worry? :scared: Obviously I watch her like a hawk...

Lexy goes through bouts of this now and again Christine. Certainly watch her. Is she keen to play with toys etc? Is her nose wet?
If she's still like this tomorrow it might be worth a vet check just in case. It could just be one of those days, we have them so I suspect our cats do too.
Give her a  from me. x

If you are still concerned tomorrow C, I would have a chat with teh vet. None of mine are eating as much as normal though
-
Hope she is better soon
-
My two have been more inside than out lately, but I am not sure if this is normal simply because I have been around for company? But the weather has certainly put a dampener on their outdoor activities (but not Esther's hunting skills, unfortunately)
-
Misa especially hasnt been himself but I reckon the weather has a lot to do with it.
Misa had some antibiotics and he is much better but still not his bouncy self unless its a nice day.
I would check with the vet if Blip is not back to normal tomorrow
-
Hope she's OK!
-
I can't add anymore to what already has been said
Just wanted to send you and Blip lots of
The boys send Blip purrs and headbutts xx
-
I hope she's ok. Jaffa sends gentle headrubbs. I would just keep an eye on her and if she seems off colour tomorrow, give the vet a ring.
-
Cats have"off days" just like we do ... certainly Bertie will occasionally fail to get up for breakfast and will seem lacklustre all day, but he always perks up the following day ;D
Definitely a trip to the vet if you're still worried tomorrow though - hope she's ok, let us know
-
Mine have all been in hibernation mode for the last few days. I was worried about Kylie yesterday as she didn't worry me for food all day. I cooked some fish at 3pm to make sure she was OK - she appeared as if by magic. I guess their bodies are expecting spring and it hasn't happened.
-
Probably the snow instead of spring like weather and maybe she knows the clocks are going forward and maybe aliens have landed ........ who knows with cats.......they have minds of their own! :Luv2:
Hope she is ok tomorrow.
Mary

How;s Blip today?
-
Hope it was just a blip and Blip is OK today, please give her a healing head kiss from me and the boys just in case.
-
Thank you everyone for your caring thoughts :thanks:
Blip perked up late yesterday evening and insisted on popping out so I wonder if she was a bit constipated, as Teresa suggested to me by PM. She ate all her breakfast this morning, went out as normal and looked fine, so I have come to work. OH is working from home this afternoon (as he feels unwell now :() so will be able to report to me in detail.
I will update this evening, but am suspecting a combination of a slightly iffy tummy and the cold, cold weather at the moment.
:thanks:
-
Oh thats very good ;D
I think this weather is upsetting so many cats and am pleased that Her Blipness seems to be back to normal ;D
Hope OH has nothing catching and recovers quickly

Hi Christine,
Just caught up with the actual thread. I reckon Blip must be a bit depressed like me following the Fulham v Newcastle result at the weekend. :) I reckon she is definitely a Fulham puss and that may be a reason!!
Seriously though, I hope she gets back to her old self quickly.
-
Good to hear she was feeling a bit perkier, hope the trend continues. ;D
-
:thanks: to everyone for caring :Luv:
Blip is completely back to normal. She has eaten all her food at the appropriate times, cuddled up to OH when he was feeling rough and is now out in the (floodlit) back garden for her short evening constitutional.
Note to Pete G: we try to keep Blip sheltered from trauma so have not broken the footballing news to her yet. Having been raised in less salubrious surroundings (near Wormwood Scrubs!) but being a puss of refinement - and black and white - she does feel that Fulham was always her destiny ;)
-
So pleased to read that Blip is back to her normal self. Sounds like N. needs some positive vibes sending his way, please give him my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
-
Glad Blip is ok again now

:hi: Christine,
A great reply ;D Having schooled next to Hammersmith Hospital next to Wormwood Scrubs, she has my sympathy. Thank God there aren't blue and white hooped cats around; that would be too much to bear.
