A few months ago we had to put a lovely wool rug away as Archie kept Scratching it. We recently got it out again which delighted Archie who immediatly began scratching again. We tried everything but he continued :innocent:
We were in PAH yesterday and OH asked if they sold anything to stop cats scratching told us to try this training sparay as it had worked for her as her cat had caused the same problems.
OH sprayed the mat last night and the smell was awlful and repelled the whole household as well as Archie. The smell was like citronella that is used in garden candles to repell insects. Poor Fluffy came in took one sniff and was off. :scared:
Wondered if anyone else has tried it. I certainly dont think we will use it again :-:
-
I've never tried it but maybe he used a bit too much? :evillaugh:
-
You could be right
-
Yep, we've used it. You have to spray whatever it is then leave the smell to kind of settle into the item otherwise it is a bit overpowering. (Works, though.)
-
It really does work although it sounds as if OH was a bit over-enthusiastic :evillaugh: A little bit will do the trick.
That being said, I love the smell of citronella - it smells to me like polish - but I am fully aware that this taste is unusual :evillaugh:
-
Thank you I feel a bit happier now as I was worried it was toxic :scared:
-
I bought some -it's called "get off"?
Not only was the smell disgusting and filled the house for days, willow peed on area I sprayed :tired:
-
This one is called Pet Behave and I thought the odour was going to choke me :-:
-
They sound similar, with that acrid citronella smell
-
Is it like that stuff that you have in outdoor candles to repel mosquitoes? That stuff gives me a headache  - seriously. I can see why it would be overpowering.
However, I bet you can't argue that it didn't work - not only did Archie stay away but the rest of you avoided the area too! ;)
-
Yes it smells just like the outside candles to repell insects  Yes we are all avoiding the mat now :evillaugh:
-
I have a vague recollection as a child of my mum putting some stuff on a
princess female dog she rescued to keep the dogs away until she was spayed that smelled just like it
-
I should think it worked perfectly :evillaugh:
