On my way to get a paper this morning I noticed a poster about a lost cat. I suddenly thought over the past few days we had been getting a new cat in our garden that has caused me some concern as it seemed thin and very hungry. I phoned the number and its likely the same cat.
The lady only had the cat a day and it managed to escape, she does not live that far away.
She wants me to try and catch it if I see it in the garden again which may be very tricky as its very nervous. I will put some food out to try and attract it, but this may get eaten by one of our numerous visitors.
Would be grateful of any ideas ;D

Could you ask your local CP to borrow a trap? I guess that might prove a problem what with having Archie and your other visitors though.

definitely slow and steady and regular meals. Although that may mean that once the cat is returned to its owner it comes avisiting ..

I did try approaching it yesterday, it stayed for a few moments but is very nervous.
I will try the regular meals.
Helen I will try a trap if we cannot catch it, as you mention though we get so many cats in the garden but its worth a try.
Thank you for your ideas :thanks:

A trap is best, if you try to grab and miss then you risk ruining the bond youve made.
:luck:

Thank you :thanks: I will have some more time tomorrow so I am going to phone the owner to see what is happening. I have not seen the poor creature since Saturday and feel quite worried

Poor cat.
You could try putting the food in a carrier and see if it will come and eat sorta regular and then if so tie a string to the door to shut when it goes into eat.
